The Red Knight
is a Harry Potter Time Travel fanfic centered around Ron Weasley. Ron travels back in time, initially intending to improve things by defeating Voldemort early and saving everyone the trouble. However, things are not exactly as they seem, and Ron has not landed in his own past, but rather the past of an Alternate Universe...
The Red Knight includes examples of:
- Floral Theme Naming: Violet Potter, following her mother Lily and aunt Petunia.
- Gender Flip: One of the first signs that Ron is not in the universe he expected- Harry here is a female named Violet Potter.
- Pair the Suitors: it's revealed that Violet used to date Ron, who also had an affair with Hermione. After he betrayed them, leading to their deaths, they went back in time and became a lesbian couple.
- Peggy Sue: Ron has traveled back to his own childhood and so have Violet and Hermione.
- Ron the Death Eater: Invoked: Ron discovers that the version of himself in the universe that he has inadvertently entered was a villain who betrayed his friends.
- The Stations of the Canon: averted, the story goes off the rails immediately as soon as first year begins, putting Ron at a disadvantage as he can no longer predict what will happen.
