Lostpony.txt
is a My Little Pony Creepypasta written by Kannibal Pirate about an anonymous author writing about their experiences with a supposed episode of Friendship is Magic. As they go on, they find they get more than they bargained for.
On May 17, 2019, a dramatic reading of the creepypasta was made by TheLostNarrator, which can be viewed here.
Lostpony.txt provides examples of:
- Ax-Crazy: Red Helper is a prime example, acting as a psychotic pony who cut off someone's eyes to stop screaming and has an odd obsession with a person's skin. The narration by The Lost Narrator gives Helper a shaky, almost off-putting voice, matching with Helper's psychotic tone.
- An Arm and a Leg: Helper is shown to be missing both his wings and his right leg in one of the images in the "episode", being replaced with bloodied bandages.
- As You Know: Said almost word-for-word in the beginning paragraph.
- Big "NO!": Said by Spike as Twilight asks him to fetch the "Lostpony" story to read to the Cutie Mark Crusaders.
- Eye Scream: The trope itself appears with Owlowiscious and Red Helper, whom are both described to have no eyes, but either blank holes or bloody bandages covering them.
- Foreshadowing: A couple instances of these appear in the story, namely:
- When the author checks the link to the episode, the website it appears on has no link and appears poorly coded, which ultimately comes back to bite the author as the episode the website is hosted on causes destructive effects to the computer.
- In-universe, Spike's yelling when asked to retrieve the "Lostpony" story foreshadows the much darker tone the story is compared to the rest of the supposed episode.
- In Medias Res: The story starts in the middle in what is implied to be a blog, writing about the author's broken computer before transitioning to how it got broken in the first place.
- Jump Scare: Twice from both Owlowicious and Helper, the latter causing the computer to ultimately crash.
- Missing Episode: In-Universe, the supposed "episode" the author experiences is apparently a part of Season 2, specifically its "pilot".
- Nothing Is Scarier: It's unknown what exactly was contained within the "Lostponysees" image, though judging by everything else in the story, it's probably for the best that it wasn't shown.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Celestia in the show is normally calm and collected, only getting angry or upset at more serious situations. When confronting Red Helper, however, Celestia is borderline pissed. Given what he was implied to have done, it's not surprising why she is upset.
- Slasher Smile: Both Owlowiscious and Red Helper displays a realistic version of this trope.
- The Fourth Wall Will Not Protect You: During the viewing of the episode, Red Helper briefly addresses the viewer before jumpscaring them, causing the author's computer to ultimately break/malfunction as well as modifying the login screen and ultimately break the computer.
- Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: Red Helper, in-universe, is far worse than any of the other villains or antagonists in the original show, being shown to have cut someone's eyes out and implied to have taken their skin.
