Tomura Shigaraki, aka Tenko Shimura, is the grandchild of Nana Shimura, aka the seventh wielder of One for All. Most importantly, he's... a student at U.A.? While his grandmother and uncle, Toshinori Yagi, are proud of him, they're also confused. He hates the hero industry. Doesn't he?

Filthy Casuals is a My Hero Academia Alternate Universe Fic where Tomura was never taken by All For One and was instead raised by his grandmother and follows his journey at U.A. highschool. The story is written by Acylion (Acyl for short) of But Doctor, I Am Pagliacci fame.

Filthy Casuals provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Badass:
    • Nana Shimura is the OFA carrier who defeats and cripples All For One where as her canon self ultimately lost and died.
    • All Might never gets crippled as a result of his mentor succeeding against her nemesis, so he's still within his physical prime.
  • Adaptational Heroism:
    • Tomura never becomes a villain thanks to being raised by his grandmother and never meeting All For One.
    • Spinner is Tomura's closest friend and isn't a Stain fanatic in this story.
  • Boxing Lessons for Superman: Nana insists in training Tomura in close quarters combat because it doesn't matter that his quirk can dedstroy anything he touches if he can't get close to touch it.
  • Do Not Call Me "Paul": Tomura wants to be called "Tomura" by everyone. Only Nana gets to call him Tenko.
  • Handicapped Badass: Nana Shimura suffers from All Might's fate and has crippling injuries thanks to her battle with All For One, and now can no longer walk for too long on her own. She still has the power of One for All despite it dwindling over the years and can still punch city blocks into oblivion.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Shimura Tenko still ends up using Shigaraki Tomura as his name, though for different reasons.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: As is obvious by the summary, Nana Shimura lived to see - and raise - her grandson as oposed to dying shortly after leaving her son to foster care.
