Hey, what's going on, everybody, it's ya boy Zack.

Richard C. Meyer is an American Comic Book reviewer, writer, and artist. His projects include:

  • His Youtube channel, once known as Diversity in Comics and now known as Comics MATTER w/Ya Boi Zach.
  • Splatto Comics: Meyer's independent comics press, which has published his original work as well as official tie in material for action movie franchises. The most well-known work published by this press in Jawbreakers.
  • Project Riribirth, a collaborative fan project he originated about the Marvel comics character Ironheart.

Tropes applying to Richard C. Meyer and his reviews:

  • Artistic License: He's stated that the Image Comics book Home has a highly inaccurate portrayal of US/Mexico Border Workers. Living in a border town himself, he has stated that he has knowledge of what Border workers are actually like.note
  • Caustic Critic: Before starting his own press, he was primarily known for caustic comic reviews.
  • Propaganda Piece: Richard has accuses Home and Unearthed: A Jessica Cruz Story of being, in his words, "poorly-researched open borders propaganda" due to how they portray Border Workers as racist thugs who take sadistic pleasure in tormenting Mexicans trying to immigrate to the USA.
  • Write What You Know: Meyer is a veteran who served for several years in the American military, and he's also lived near the US / Mexican border for many years. As such, when the comics he reviews have scenes involving the military or set on the border (such as Home and the DC comic Bordertown), he focuses especially on those aspects and makes sure to point out anything he finds to be inaccurate.
