Astron-6 is a Canadian film making collective based in Winnipeg.

The current members are: Adam Brooks, Jeremy Gillespie, Matt Kennedy, Conor Sweeney, and Steven Kostanski.

They are known for producing independent, low-budget films; typically Affectionate Parodies of 80's era action, science fiction and horror films.

The Editor contains the following tropes:

  • Affectionate Parody: Of giallo films of the 1960s, 70s, and 80s, and to a lesser degree poliziotteschi and supernatural horror films like The Beyond and Dario Argento's Film/Inferno.
  • Shout-Out: Far too many to catalog. Practically every giallo film made during the genre's lifespan is referenced or homaged in some way.
  • Where the Hell Is Springfield?: The film's setting is a strange amalgam of Italy, the United States, and Canada (where it was shot). Intentional on the part of the filmmakers, as the ambiguous location is a reflection of the films The Editor is paying homage to.

How well does it match the trope?
