Dimension Guardians

Dimension Guardians

The Dimension Guardians are a team composed of Duelists from across all 4 Dimensions. Jonouchi decided to put together a team that could put an end to Leo Akaba's war.

Tropes associated with Dimension Guardians:

  • True Companions: The team has undying care for one another, no matter what dimension they hail from.

     Yuya Ryuga
The main character and pioneer of Pendulum. He is dubbed the leader of the Guardians upon meeting the team in the Synchro Dimension.
See Main Characters for more information.

     Katsuya Jonouchi

Yuya's surrogate Uncle.

  • Avengers Assemble: After arriving in the Fusion Dimension and improving his deck and dueling skills, he goes about putting together a team to stand up against Leo's forces, starting with Asuka.
  • Team Dad: Though not to the extent you'd expect.

     Asuka Tenjoin

Asuka Tenjoin

Archetype: Cyber Angel

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fullalexisrhodesarcv.png

A resident of the Fusion Dimension, Asuka was an undercover agent of Samejima. She was tasked with finding out Academia's true goals. Along with her brother, she attempted to escape, but her brother was taken away. Jonouchi saved her from the officers and recruited her into the team.

  • Team Mom: If scolding Rua for only taking meat on his plate at Akari's house is any indication.

     Rio Kamishiro

Rio Kamishiro

Archetype: Ice Winged Beast

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/257px_riokastle_duli.png
Click here to see her Barian form

A duelist from the Xyz Dimension, and a former member of the Resistance. She is the younger twin sister of Ryouga Kamishiro. When her home was invaded, she went around to see if anyone survived. Academia soldiers attempted to card her, but she was saved by Jonouchi and Asuka, who invited her to the team.

  • Adaptational Badass: She proves to be more skillful as a duelist compared to canon, especially when her Barian powers are reawakened.

     Rua Godwin

Archetype: Rose

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aki_69.png

An alternate counterpart to Aki Izayoi from Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds. She used to be a resident of the Tops, living with her parents, but was deported to the Commons after she attempted to stop Security from arresting people during a campaign.

  • Adaptational Angst Downgrade: In canon, as a result of her parents' initial view of her and how everybody else saw her, she first appeared cold and ruthless, acting like the monster everyone saw her as. In this remake, she doesn't display this attitude, as her parents continued to love and support her, and the Tops and Commons were rather divided on how they felt toward her.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: In canon, Aki trusted Divine as he was the only one who ever accepted her and her powers (or so she assumed). Here, she utterly despises him for being selfish, and prevents him from attempting to kill Yuya.
  • Happily Married: By Part 5, she's this to Yusei.
  • Healing Hands: She displays the ability to use this in the remake.
  • Something about a Rose: Roses are a major part of both her and her deck's motif.

However, he soon let the power go to his head and now he wants nothing to do with his home dimension, instead preferring to rule a different place altogether. To that end, Roget will do anything to maintain his seat of power, anything.
