The Monster Architects

    In General
  • Bag of Holding: A Dwarven Helmet can store objects within it to a very large amount. Krik is able to take out from his helmet enough logs to build a boat.
  • Made of Iron: The dwarves have no fighting skill, but their massive resilience lets them take hits that would kill someone else without a scratch, which allows them to run away and survive.

    Soara

Soara

A Street Urchin plucked from the streets and trained by soldiers to become the ultimate monster slayer. With no options left after the war ended, she wandered until finding the Monster Architects and deciding to stick with them.

  • Abusive Parents: Soara was taken in by a group of soldiers that treated her more like a tool than a human being. With the intention of making her the greatest warrior ever, they put her through brutal, unrelenting training never letting her rest properly or giving her a chance at a normal childhood.
  • Action Girl: Soara has incredible strength and technique with a sword and with her bare hands, being able to go toe to toe even with monsters multiple times her size when not outright destroying them, putting her into the position of de-facto bodyguard of the team.
  • Audience Surrogate: Soara. She has no experience about the world of monsters or architecture, so the multiple expositive dialogues that explain ideas behind the house designs and the monster's habits are usually targeted at her as a proxy to the audience.

"To create something with your own hands, through naught but effort and diligence. Something filled with your own love and care, no matter how crude it may seem. It's a feeling you can never find by stealing from others."

The Architects's master and mentor. She was considered the greatest architect there was and kidnapped by the Dark Lord, creating his castle, and later, his actual house.

Afterwards, he fell in love with her, but she did not stay with him to continue her journey trying to improve the monsters' living conditions. She is currently missing after trying to find and deal with The Big Three.

A couple made out of a thunderwolf and a mermaid, two species that are often at war. The two hide themselves away in a cliffside house trying to find a way to fit their conflicting biologies into a life together.

  • Interspecies Romance: The two are from warring species, but still fall for each other. Reconstructed in that while their conflicting biologies makes it hard for them to live together and even to be intimate with each other as touching one another causes shocks to Maribel, having the right housing, as built by the architects, allows them to live together and showcase thaty their love and relationship are genuine.

    The Caith-Sith

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/smh_cait.png

A family of 7 Cait Sith siblings who run a restaurant in the woods to mixed success. The Architects help them create a new one after the last one of theirs burned down.

Golly, the Golem

An once small, but now massive golem that was raised by a family of Korpokkur, but was sent away when he became too big for them to take care of.

    Korpokkur
A race of small fairy beings with powers over plants. Their size makes them easy prey, which leads to them making houses hidden inside tree trunks.

Hagan, The Dark Lord

The Lord of Monsters. Once a power hungry and violent warrior, he found peace and quiet after meeting and falling in love with Kahyou, the architect.

  • Good Costume Switch: Having given up on his evil ways, he changed his black armor for a very simple kimono and pants. His hair also changed from its original wild and spiky look to a very silky straight hair, though this one was mostly a result of Kahyou saying she prefers him with long hair.
  • Lima Syndrome: He fell in love with Kahyou, despite initially kidnapping her.
