Arlo the Alligator Boy is by far a definitive musical masterpiece, and nearly every song that appears throughout the franchise is a catchy delight; but one of the best would be the movie that started it all.
Vocal songs
  • New York, My Home, a calm yet short little track that sets the mood of nighttime NYC.
  • More, More, More, Arlo's "I Want" Song, and a very bouncy little ditty highlighting his optimism. A shorter, much more hyper reprise occurs during Arlo's sugar rush in Willow Button.
  • Beyond These Walls, another "I Want" Song courtesy of Arlo, though it is much more emotional and heartfelt, to the point where it's played during the credits in its entirety.
  • Follow Me Home, the most recognized of all the songs, and a monument to the singing ability of Mary Lambert. What starts as a somber reflection on Bertie's part turns into a beautiful duet between her and Arlo.
  • Right There With You, a poppy dance track that plays during the mostly humorous montage of the cast exploring New York.
  • Better Life, a song by Ansel that wouldn't be out of place in a Broadway musical. It also serves as a major source of foreshadowing as to who he really is.
  • Wash the Hurt Away, Arlo's BSoD Song, a sad yet invigorating track about his many regrets.
  • Something's Missing, the heartfelt duet between Arlo and Ansel as the latter comes to terms with his decisions and fears.
  • And finally, Beautiful Together, the song Arlo sings as he and his friends fix up Seaside by the Seashore as a family, establishing it as their new home.

Instrumental score

  • The upbeat jazz music played during the time-lapse of the shack growing over the years, which leads to Arlo's introduction.
  • "Arlo's Journey", the calm and adventurous track that plays as Arlo is giving Edmee his final farewell and as he is leaving the swamp.
