The Eclipse

  • The battle between Nebby and Necrozma is visually stunning, and while Nebby still loses, they put up a much better fight than they did in the games.
  • Necrozma takes down Nebby in a brutal battle and absorbs it to become even more powerful. Selene, the player character, walks up with her own Poké Ball ready to fight regardless.

The Plan

  • Part of Alder and N's battle is actually shown in this adaptation. Like in the games, Alder is defeated by N's Zekrom, but Alder's Volcarona proves that it's not a Champion's Pokémon for nothing. It lands some solid hits, notably avoiding Zekrom's opening move and blasting it with an attack from the side. Not to mention, when Alder shouts to N that Ghetsis has been conning him, N is visibly shaken by the possibility.

The Rival

The Wish

  • May's battle with Rayquaza as first May sends out Aggron who attacks with Stone Edge which leads into Rayquaza dodging the stone fragments! Then, May recalls Aggron and sends out Altaria who attacks with Dragon Pulse which leads to Rayquaza using Extreme Speed to head through the Dragon Pulse and knock out Altaria! Finally, May sends out her Mega Swampert and has it attack with Ice Punch which when it connects, has a Kung-Fu Sonic Boom and a Repeat Cut as Rayquaza is briefly frozen. Rayquaza then falls down and May catches it in a Ultra Ball.

The Show

  • The special effects the Kimono Girls and their Pokemon put on for the titular show are GLORIOUS. Additionally, they're a lovely show of Mundane Utility done creatively—special mention goes to the Fearow basically performing motion capture as Ho-Oh and Lugia.

The Discovery

  • Green's Curb-Stomp Battle against the trainers at Nugget Bridge, capped off by the cheeky way she exits.
