*** The whole thing kicks off with Yondu (wearing a much bigger fin closer to the original comic book character), Rocket, and Baby Groot engaging in a slow-mo PowerWalk out of the cell and into the hallway with expressions of pure bad-assed "you guys are all dead."

** To put into perspective, do you remember when he killed Ronan's men in the previous movie? [[PunctuatedForEmphasis That. Was. Nothing.]] The whole crew of mutineers, perfectly aware of what he can do, are still completely defenseless against it. They don't have the time to fire a single shot at him, and the one time someone manages to dodge, [[ExactlyWhatIAimedAt Taserface wasn't the primary target anyways]], and still dies when the tank of fuel Yondu sent his ''flaming arrow'' against explodes. Yeah, you read that right; the arrow was on fire at the end.

** The original Comicbook/GuardiansOfTheGalaxy, composed of high-ranking Ravager captains, reunite after Yondu's death. Makes this troper hope that they get their own movie.

It's also incredibly refreshing that there's no hesitation or trying to understand; Peter just starts firing from the get-go.

* Gamora carrying a gun ''larger than her'' and unloading it on a target.
* Yondu shows the mutinous Ravagers ''why'' they feared him for so long, using his TrickArrow to take out most of them.

* The Ravagers try to ambush Rocket and Groot in a forest. Emphasis on ''try''. Rocket is a TrapMaster who was already on to them and has filled his ship's surrounding area with [[BoobyTrap Booby Traps]]; particular examples including a box unleashing a FlechetteStorm on one group of Ravagers and a set of anti-gravity mines that repeatedly send several Ravagers into the air. Rocket also shows that he's no pushover in close quarter combat by disposing of a couple of stragglers with his claws alone. It takes [[OneManArmy Yondu's]] personal intervention to finally capture him.
* When Taserface announces his captaincy, Rocket mocks him so hard that ''his own mutineers'' laugh at him!
* After a long, painful attempt at getting Baby Groot to understand he has to go take Yondu's replacement crest in his room, Yondu takes control of his arrow and near singlehandedly kills the whole Ravager crew. Once he reaches the main deck of the ship, it literally rains slain Ravagers.
** And the part where Yondu makes full use of the network coverage by sending the arrow throughout the ship ''while watching it via CCTV''. The closest that Rocket can even match that is shooting though the walls to nail the Ravagers that show up on the right cameras.

[[CurbStompBattle Yondu absolutely slaughters the entire crew without so much as taking a scratch]] while still performing little [[IShallTauntYou flourishes]] like shattering one mutineer's mug of beer to shock him and ''then'' killing him.
* For a moment, it looks like Gamora is going to choke Mantis out after finding a huge pile of bones in Ego's caverns. Then Mantis, perhaps in a moment of realization whispers out, "You are scared." And Gamora immediately lets go, suddenly hit by a wave of fear.

* Disney did a deal with a sports presenter to get back WesternAnimation/OswaldTheLuckyRabbit, a fairly mundane deal, compared to the fact they gave up ''partial creative control'' of ''Film/{{Deadpool|2016}}'' to get James Gunn Ego the Living Planet. And all because James Gunn felt he '''''could not''''' make the movie with a lesser antagonist.
* The film has gained a Certified Fresh rating of 81% on Website/RottenTomatoes, which ranks it among the better films in the MCU, even if it's not as good as [[ToughActToFollow its predecessor]].

* In the same vein as what they did for Creator/MichaelDouglas in ''Film/AntMan'' and for Creator/RobertDowneyJr in ''Film/CaptainAmericaCivilWar'', the de-aging effect they used to portray Creator/KurtRussell (i.e. the young Ego) is [[SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome a thing of accuracy]] you'd think he just came out of ''Film/EscapeFromNewYork''. And unlike the earlier ones, it was largely done with make-up.
* For "Awesome Mix Vol. 2", "The Chain" by Music/FleetwoodMac was the hardest song to get rights to. It took showing the scene it was in to ''every single member'' of the band to get their individual approval.
* The fact that the film takes a concept as ridiculous and comic-booky as a sentient, omnicidal ''planet'', makes it a central focus of the film, gives it a personal connection to one of the main characters, and totally makes it work is surely an MOA for everyone involved.
** Adding to that, consider what a big deal it was to have Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and Howard the Duck in the same film. [[ItWillNeverCatchOn Any other studio would scoff at this]] [[AndYouThoughtItWouldFail for being too ridiculous for a superhero movie]]. * Just as the young Kurt Russell look was accomplished with very little CGI, Baby Groot's HeliumSpeech-sounding voice was accomplished with very little digital alteration to Creator/VinDiesel's voice. The man is truly an exceptional voice actor, and has [[WesternAnimation/TheIronGiant proved it with]] [[Film/GuardiansOfTheGalaxy so few words]]. He does it again in one of the stingers, delivering two "I am Groot"s in a flawless imitation of a mumbling, sneering teenager.
* In the wake of ''Vol. 1'' and ''Vol. 2'''s successes, Marvel made James Gunn an executive producer on ''Film/AvengersInfinityWar'' and its untitled sequel so that he would be on hand to make sure that the Guardians would stay true to his vision even as they are being directed by the Russo Brothers. Also, Marvel very quickly locked him in to write and direct ''Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3'' so that the original cinematic Guardians' story can be wrapped up his way[[note]]even bringing him back after having to fire him in the fallout over some old controversial comments he'd made[[/note]].
* If you enjoyed ''Music/GuardiansInferno'' during the film's end credits, you'll be happy to know that the song has a '''''MUSIC VIDEO.''''' This video has a majority of the cast [[note]] Sean Gunn (Kraglin) is the man in the blue suit, Pom Klementieff (Mantis) is the woman in the silver dress, Michael Rooker (Yondu) is the man with the soul patch, Zoe Saldana (Gamora) is the woman in the yellow spandex, Dave Bautista (Drax) is the man with the wings, Karen Gillan (Nebula) is the woman in the white vest and pants, James Gunn (director) is the man with the Elvis hair and sunglasses, and Chris Pratt (Star-Lord) is the robot. [[/note]] and Creator/DavidHasselhoff himself having the time of their lives in a stellar throwback to the 1970's disco era--that looks like it was FILMED in that decade. Originally Zoe and Chris were not part of the shoot, James believing at the time they were too busy to do it and didn't ask. Zoe and Chris got in when he told them about it at a lunch in London... and they wondered why they didn't get asked. Cue rapid shooting of Zoe's part in LA and Chris's parts in a back area of the ''Film/JurassicWorldFallenKingdom'' set and green screening them both in.
