  • Using his "push" ability, Andy wrecks the two Shop agents who killed Vicky and kidnapped Charlie. He even feels sorry for them before he does it.
"Those were the two men out there that had killed his wife and stolen his daughter, and if they weren’t right with Jesus, he pitied them."
  • Having been a stoned-out zombie his whole time at the Shop, Andy secretly breaks his drug addiction and completely and utterly takes over Cap Hollister, turning the head of the Shop into his puppet.
  • The ending. Charlie goes on a Roaring Rampage of Revenge, and pretty much destroys the entire Shop, just as Andy told her before his death.
It's a war. Make them know they've been in a war. [...] Make it so they can never do anything like this again. Burn it down, Charlie. Burn it all down.
  • Irv Manders stands up to the Shop agents who try to take Charlie away and kill Andy. He tells the agents to either show him their warrant or to get out. In the film he also arms himself with his deer rifle.
Irv: You men are trespassing. I want you to get the hell off my property.
Shop agent: We're government agents, sir. These two folks are wanted for questioning. Nothing more.
Irv: I don't care if they're wanted for assassinating the President. Show me your warrant or get the Christ off my land.
Shop agent: We don't need a warrant.
Irv: You do unless I woke up in Russia this morning. I'm telling you to get off, and you better get high-steppin, mister. That's my last word on it.
  • A few pages later, after the debacle that follows that scene, where his home is destroyed and he's wounded, Irv offers them his old jeep, and Andy tries to tell him that he doesn't need to involve himself further:
    Andy: You don’t have to—
Irv: [cutting Andy off] I feel I do.
  • Charlie McGee getting shot at... and vaporizing the bullet in midair just before she does the same to the man who fired it. She then proceeds to prove to her captors just how bad an idea it was to mess with a pyrokinetic. The whole scene ends with her sinking her power into a lake, evaporating it, and looking through the steam at the hazed-over sun. She briefly fears she may have affected it directly, but reassures herself that she couldn't possibly do that. And then, a little voice deep inside her says, not yet you can't.
  • Charlie's final coup. The Shop wants to recapture her so they can liquidate her and prevent the truth of what they've done — and what they planned on doing — from ever getting out. They no doubt have agents watching the offices of every major news source in the country, ready to take her out the moment she turns up. But with the help of an employee of the New York Public Library, she figures out probably the one place to go which they never would have suspected: the offices of Rolling Stone magazine. Awesomely clever and a triumphant, grin-inducing dénouement.
