III Crom Have Mercy On My Legs

Whew, taking a break from riding to have lunch. I seem to be tiring faster today than on the weekend.

This doesn't seem to be a very interesting topic, I guess. I guess I can keep going.

Robot Alchemic Drive
  • I have to say, my Senjo Harbor is nice for having room to fight.
  • Unfortunately, my Voice with an Internet Connection needs to Stop Helping Me, and Nanao needs to stop being the Millstone around my neck.
    • Mission Control has an extremely irritating tendency to call me and freeze my controls just as the monster is taking a swing, and the game doesn't pause during their slow conversations.
    • I probably shouldn't be frustrated at them for taking forever to launch the Meganite; I have no idea how long it takes to get one ready.
    • Nanao, on the other hand, has to go back, to the observation tower where she works, to pick up her grandma's lucky charm, all she has left. Fine, it's dumb, but do it, just walk faster.
    • The JSDF tanks seem to hit me almost as much as they hit the enemy.
    • And the cars tend to hit my character if I'm standing in the street. Just a Flesh Wound, though.

  • We now have a new goal; make money. We're broke.
    • Luckily, we have an independent contract with the JSDF; ten billion yen for every monster killed. The city pays us for preserving some civic buildings, and the ministry of construction gives us a big bonus for keeping damage to a minimum. Cool, we're Private Military Contractors, defending Japan for a nominal fee.
      • We should see about franchising; rest of the world sounds pretty desperate.
    • Speaking of, we're also being paid by various private companies, like Misaki Heavy Industries, to protect their buildings.
      • Ironically, they got rich selling weapons, while Tsukioka went broke building Humongous Mecha.
    • It'll do for now, but I am tempted to march on Tokyo and hold the city hostage for a larger budget. Seems a very Megatron thing to do.

Having unlocked the funding system, I can now buy upgrades, both for my robot, and myself.

  • I have bought upgraded lasers, armor, and for my character, the best boost system to move faster, and the best jets.
    • I assume these are cybernetics, and awesome ones at that; I can now run faster than a car...and fly, of course.
      • Too bad the maximum set costs about $370,000,000, could make a killing if we kept the cost down. Then again, the cheap ones might still be marketable.
    • I'm reminded of X Com, where you make huge amounts of money manufacturing and selling gear.

It seems I found a glitch with one of the enemies; it seems to have gotten stuck in a loop of it's normally devastating dervish attack; fortunately, my robot can fly. Cue Cherry Tapping with lasers.

It seems the government has also set up an Evacuation Guidance Group to keep my robot from slipping on the bodies of screaming civilians. One of our old friends, Ellen Bulnose, heiress to Bulnose Heavy Industries, is a member. We lost touch when our character became a poor person. (If you play a male character, she's your ex-fiancée).

  • Ironically, I think I may have stepped on a couple people during the training exercise.

And I think I've found another problem; my robot kicks too much ass. Normally, in the latest mission, you're supposed to take time out of your fight to extinguish some fires and build Relationship Values with Ellen by rescuing her. Unfortunately, I tend to blow up the robot too fast...
