** In one of Southbird's out-of-band videos, which was made quite a while after [[spoiler:Vinny stopped mistreating Walrus]], Walrus says he likes Limes better than Vinny. Of course, this is mostly because Limes has a fondness for seals and Walrus himself is a pinniped.

** By extension, Donkey Kong, given that he was responsible for turning Two Faced into a {{Jerkass}} in the first place, and isn't a very nice character to begin with (particularly because he once yelled at Vinny for no reason). As such, his [[spoiler:betrayal of her during the Battle Royale]] is seen either as [[SugarWiki/MomentOfAwesome a well-deserved redemption]] or him crossing the MoralEventHorizon. Most everyone agrees that [[spoiler:his brutal rejection of Clown Lady in Episode 56's first timeline]] was completely uncalled for, at least.

** [[spoiler:HOTDOG's return in Episode 47]] in its entirety. It comes out of absolutely nowhere (the SB edit implies [[spoiler:it's something done to cover up Skelorita's eviction]], but ''why'' that's being done is unexplained), it doesn't have much relevance to the plot other than some jokes, and [[spoiler:is never mentioned again after he gets assimilated in the following episode]]. It seems the main reason it was done is [[spoiler:to foreshadow that other things would happen off screen in the future, though simply wanting to [[TrollingCreator troll viewers]] probably had something to with it, depending on whether the Jahn invasion had been planned at that point]].

** It makes sense that Vlinny managed to [[spoiler: beat both Two-Faced and Vinny-as-Pit in the Battle Royale. He IS the former [[MindScrew (or future)]] [[WebSeries/VinesauceMiitopia Dark Lord]] ]]

** More Southbird-induced weirdness in Episode 12's SB edit: After the episode turns out to have only enough content for one minute of video, Southbird adds in some filler... in the form of a recap with clips and fan art, set to "When I'm Bored". He never does anything like this again.

** Southbird will forever be associated with Cling On due to his fanboyism. He embraced it by the time she became part of his [=YouTube=] and social networking branding, courtesy of Teckworks.

** In Episode 15, Vinny commented on Tingle's disposable camera's obsolescence using the voice he would later use for Pinkle.

* AcceptableTargets: Vinny doesn't seem to have a high opinion of New Jersey. He compared a photo an islander took to a dirty beach there and when he revisited ''VideoGame/AnimalCrossing: New Leaf'' after starting this series he compared a town intended to look like a post-apocalyptic wasteland to it.

* DracoInLeatherPants: The most obvious examples of this are Two Faced and Vlinny. They're not the most heroic of islanders, with Two Faced [[spoiler:cheating on Walrus]] and Vlinny [[spoiler:possibly manning the Jahn invasion]]. They still manage to be popular islanders, with some fan art ignoring these traits, largely because the nature of the series allows for lots of AlternativeCharacterInterpretation for them in particular.

** In an early episode, Vinny showed a fan-made video depicting a lonely Vinesauce wishing he had more friends, after which [=BonziBUDDY=], [[UsefulNotes/MicrosoftWindows Microsoft Sam]], and a ''VideoGame/MoonbaseAlpha'' astronaut show up. The series would later contain a large amount of characters, with several becoming friends with Vinesauce.

* IKnewIt: Many fans believed that [[spoiler:Two Faced was a Jahn/Jehn]] because of their [[spoiler:facial structure resembling the Jahns' blank faces]]. Come Episode 53, [[spoiler:Two Faced begins speaking in the Jahns' language, with Vinny openly questioning her on how she knows this]].

** Tucker was created specifically to be a loser. He's an unflattering caricature of Vinny's FanDumb, and Vinny will insult him at every opportunity.

* SelfFanservice: Despite them being rendered as Miis (which look cartoony and SuperDeformed) in-series, fan artists have had a lot of fun with drawing the islanders as attractive, particularly Two Faced and Cling On. Vlinny's a unique case; despite canonically being a botched clone with disturbing face, his makeover led to a lot of handsome drawings of him that either removed or toned down his weird features.
* ShockingElimination: [[spoiler:Played with -- Vinny ''saves'' Two Faced from elimination in Episode 53, though he makes it clear that she'll be gone next episode if no one else gets more votes than her... then she gets eliminated the very next episode, albeit not by votes.]]
* SignatureSong: "Right Em' in the Wrong Hole" and "Dragon's Dilda" are probably the most well-known songs made in the game, but "The Ballad of Sponge" is considered the best by far (to the point where Vinny declares that "it wouldn't be a ''Tomodachi'' revisit stream without [replaying it]"). However, "Dragon's Dilda" no longer exists on Vinny's copy of the game because [[spoiler:Wario was removed temporarily]].

** Southbird will forever be associated with Cling On due to his fanboyism.

** When [[spoiler:Alpaca and Bonzi]] get married, Vinny states, "This marriage will last forever, don't worry." [[spoiler:It didn't, and Vinny's the reason why.]]
** When Two Faced and Walrus become friends in Episode 3, Vinny hopes that it will be "a long, fruitful friendship". [[spoiler:By the time said relationship ends, Walrus has been tortured and cheated on, Vinny feels pretty guilty, and overall no one is feeling very fruitful.]]

** In the time before the ''Survivor Edition'' started, fan artist murugo drew [[http://vinesauce.booru.org/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=35985 art of Vlinny]] that got Southbird's attention, with him commenting how well the art showed how Vlinny can be such a scary EvilKnockoff. This becomes a bit ironic when you consider that events in the ''Survivor Edition'' (mainly [[spoiler:the eviction of Dheerse]]) led to Vlinny's "evil clone" characterization largely dying off (as said event led to fans looking back and seeing that [[spoiler:Vineschnoz]] had been much more directly antagonistic compared to Vlinny in a fraction of the screentime).

** There is [[http://vinesauce.booru.org/index.php?page=post&s=view&id=31580 fan art]] (spoiler warning) of Groose losing his hair, which was made sometime around Episode 48. Come Episode 52, and Groose gets a comb-over wig, effectively making him bald.

** As of Episode 53, ''Two Faced'' (of all people) is beginning to be seen as this, as [[spoiler:Vinny remarks that there's a 50/50 chance she'll die after he had to intervene in voting]]. [[spoiler:And indeed, she gets eliminated the very next episode.]]

** While "Ticket to Hell", the song featuring [[VideoGame/TheBindingOfIsaac Isaac]], Jesus, and Satan is SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic in its own right, the line "Good and evil, it's all in your head" becomes harsher when you consider that [[spoiler:[[DyingDream it's on]] [[DeadAllAlong the nose]]]].

** Art of Tucker's mom is sometimes given the "Mrs. Blankface" tag on the Booru. Vinny has never actually given her a name and the "Blankface" name is simply a misspelling of Blankfaece, whose Tucker art inspired the character's Mii. The reason Tucker was given that as a last name is because the game doesn't allow Miis to have OnlyOneName, and Vinny rarely gives him a last name (though he did refer to him as Tucker Friendperson during a stream of VideoGame/ChaosCompleXX).

* ItsShortSoItSucks: In a meta sense, this is the series' greatest flaw; while the story has a lot of room to develop, the game that's being played is ''very'' simple and short on content, even when not being compared to other life simulators. The basics are all covered about ten episodes in, and Vinny sees everything major ''Tomodachi Life'' has to offer by Episode 38. From then on, the game itself becomes increasingly overshadowed in lore development by Vinny, Southbird, and the fandom, to the point where the game is an afterthought and starts limiting the plot. This is the main reason why Vinny ended the series as a recurring stream and only visits it every few months.

** Meta example: Vinny once mentioned how difficult and time-consuming it would be to shorten the streams. We would later find out that it was actually done... by someone who spent considerably more time and effort reverse-engineering ''VideoGame/SuperMarioBros3''.

He had previously deleted and re-added the Jahns offscreen because he wanted their nicknames to be spelled "Jahn" and not "Jon" and the fact that their nicknames were read-only meant that he couldn't do this himself. In addition, he mentioned during an ''Animal Crossing: New Leaf'' stream that in that game he catches beetles on Tortimer Island in between streams (using his non-streaming 3DS), with selling said beetles being a common way for players to quickly make lots of money.

** Of course, there's [[PerpetualFrowner Sponge]], who is so popular that he gets a plethora of fan art and even his own fan game. [[spoiler:He scored first place on the final poll in Episode 55, and by a large margin to boot.]]

** One of Southbird's videos of the European version of the island shows songs from the main series being played with various language settings, such as [=BootlegVin=] singing Vinesauce's "Right Em' in the Wrong Hole" song in his upper-class British accent (resulting in the song sounding SophisticatedAsHell) and Smellz Like Feet (Witch and Waluigi) singing their mostly gibberish song with the language set to Spanish. Most of the songs sung with the language set to something other than English mispronounce the words due to those language settings' voice synthesizers not being intended for English and applying those languages' spelling rules as a result, but Sponge's ballad, which is sung with the language set to German, ends up with the English lyrics being pronounced correctly more often and the accent ends up adding to the song's effect, as the singer was established as being European in the main series. Later on, when Southbird made videos on the Japanese version of the game, he ended up singing an enka song (a genre only present in ''Tomodachi Collection'' and the Japanese version of ''Life'') and it ends up being more sad-sounding than Vineschnoz's goofy enka songs from the ''Collection'' corruption stream.
