* WoobieSpecies: The Mu. They are hunted down for having powers they are born with and can do nothing about, and they tend to be born with physical disabilities as compensation for their powers. Their telepathic abilities make it hard for them to fit in the society, where computers control everything and regularly brainwash every citizen, eliminating these who fail to submit. At the beginning of the series [[spoiler:they are driven away from their homeworld and forced to flee across the Galaxy]]. When it seems that they finally have found a new home, [[spoiler:Keith blows it up]].

* TrueArtIsAngsty: The manga won numerous awards.

And even if humans' leader [[spoiler:Keith Anyan]] could be seen as anti-villain, it's not hard to think of him as ''space Hitler'', especially when he gives a speech about [[{{FinalSolution}} eradicating all Mu]].

* CrowningMusicOfAwesome: The anime series has some truly fantastic {{BGM}}.

* CrowningMomentOfAwesome/[[CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming Heartwarming]]: Leticia's adopted parents refusing to give her up after the revelation that she's a Mu, due to bad memories of having to do that with their previous adopted son, Jomy.
** [[{{Badass}} Everything Blue does is awesome]] but he really outdoes himself [[spoiler:in the moments leading up to his HeroicSacrifice]].
** About once an episode, really. More towards the end.

* CrowningMomentOfAwesome/[[CrowningMomentOfHeartwarming Heartwarming]] (Leticia's adopted parents refusing to give her up after the revelation that she's a Mu, due to bad memories of having to do that with their previous adopted son, Jomy)

* CrowningMusicOfAwesome (The anime series has some truly fantastic {{BGM}})
* HoYay (As the mangaka Keiko Takemiya is credited for inventing yaoi, there is a lot of this stuff going on. All the time. Mostly from [[{{BodyguardCrush}} Matsuka]].)
