RTDE should only be put into a YMMV page if it's about characters being vilified and/or believed to be evil by the audience. Individual works doing that are just using Adaptational Tropes.

* RonTheDeathEater: Gwen's character is completely derailed from a snarky goth with a hidden heart of gold and into a bitter and prejudiced bitch who mistreats Cody for no reason.

Added DiffLines:

* UnintentionallySympathetic: Courtney tells Cody that they can't talk to each other during the competition after Dodgebrawl. While a sad decision, it's not unreasonable as they have to focus on the competition and Cody could be targeted as well for talking to the opposite team. And even though Courtney does act high-strung around him afterwards, Cody isn't portrayed any better. He goes off on her for her decision and even humiliates her in front of everyone at one point out of pettiness. There's also the fact that he once forced eyedrops onto her despite refusing and roared at her for it.

Added DiffLines:

* DesignatedHero: Readers have cited Cody as being portrayed in this light. Cody is supposed to be the hero who's trying to improve his life. It failed as Cody unnecessarily rants about the miniscule of things, has meltdowns, and is described and whiny and self-centered by his detractors. This Reddit [[https://www.reddit.com/r/Totaldrama/comments/sr82q7/semioccasional_fanfiction_review_series_no_2/ post]] goes in full depth about his flaws.

* BaseBreakingCharacter: Cody. He's either adorable and lovable as a protagonist, or a MartyStu that drags the story down with it by removing a majority of the canon character's biggest flaws. There's rarely a middleground.

* BrokenBase: The story as a whole to the Total Drama community as a whole. It has an outspoken and loyal fanbase, but it should be noted that quite a large number of critics have sighted it as an example of bad storytelling.

* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Gwen continued hatred to Cody despite Cody doing nothing to warrant has cause fans to theories she also got back in time, and remembers how he acted in seasons after the first.
** This has been debunked, as its been revealed that her reason is actually very petty.
