* UnfortunateImplications: [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcolmB4nj_s During TFcon 2017]], a fan pointed out to James Roberts that the comic seemingly wanted the reader to empathize with Megatron, someone who had spent millions of years as an "abusive, fascist colonizer" and had committed countless acts of genocide, torture and slavery across the galaxy. Roberts explained that he was mandated by his superiors to attempt to "sell" Megatron as an Autobot by delving his past to show how he became who he was, to have the reader understand him but not necessarily sympathize with him.

MEH requires the character be considered irredeemable In Universe. While the Tyrest identity is certainly beyond the pale, the actual identity of Solomus was shown to have redeemed himself by killing Adaptus as he was mortally wounded. So it's a bit murky whether Tyrest can be listed. If he can, it would need to specify that it's specifically that identity that crossed it, and it's a distinct identity from Solomus.

It gets even worse when it's revealed his actual identity is Solomus of the Guiding Hand, but suffered IdentityAmnesia from the God War against Adaptus. He was the wisest of the five and truly wanted to help people, yet not only did Adaptus take that away from him, he also made Tyrest into his UnwittingPawn via the "Grand Architect" identity. * CriticalResearchFailure: Despite being a JerkAss, Whirl wouldn't be diagnosed as a sociopath ''or'' a psychopath in real life. He shows far too much concern for his fellow crewmates, and feels guilt for his part in Megatron starting the war, among other things. It also seems that his problems started much later in life. Sociopaths are almost impossible to treat due to their high narcissism, while Whirl appears to have low self-esteem that he tries to hide by 'bigging himself up'.
** Due to his mood swings, he's far more likely to be diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, which is treatable with long-term therapy and medication.

** As the Scavenger arc was revisited in ''Lost Light'', the newly added character of Nickel caused a bit of a divide. Either its great to have this popular new character brought in, given emotional and comedic moments while also finding a new home with the Scavengers. For others, Nickel is a completely unrepentant member of the one group everyone in universe either hated or feared and her being given emotional baggage of missing a group of violent murderers screams of trying to appeal to the small but vocal part of the fandom that frequently defended the DJD's actions on social media.

His level of self-confidence goes beyond "reckless" into the "potentially lethal", he makes ''[[{{Jerkass}} Whirl]]'' look positively selfless and insecure, and his ego is approximately the size of Unicron. All of this would be bad if his plans didn't end up [[CrazyAwesome working more often than not.]] Best exemplified in this exchange from Season Three.

** Whirl. InUniverse the Autobots hate or fear him, and Ratchet is uncomfortable with repairing him. Out of Universe he's loved for being a CrazyAwesome hilarious badass.

Requires a citation from a reputable source. Cutting unless you can supply one.

* UnfortunateImplications: During TFcon 2017, a fan pointed to James Roberts that the comic seemingly wanted the reader to empathize with Megatron, someone who had spent millions of years as a bigoted, fascist tyrant and had committed countless acts of genocide, torture and slavery across the galaxy. Roberts explained that he was mandated by his superiors to attempt to "sell" Megatron as an Autobot by delving his past to show how he became who he was, to have the reader understand him but not neccessarily sympathize with him.

Given how Anode is also listed in Base Breaking Character, I'm going to cut this one.

* TheScrappy: Anode for Lost Light, as many fans feel she serves no purpose to the overall story, and her real purpose as the 'character for new readers to latch onto' could have easily been served by Roller, Terminus, or any of the others who were stored on the Necroworld. Worse yet, she's a big case of SpotlightStealingSquad, as she takes up too much time that could have been better spent focusing on the already established characters and their plot lines (Nautica and Swerve dealing with Skids' death, Cyclonus and Tailgate's struggling relationship, Terminus and Megatron's reunion and why [[spoiler: Terminus tricked Megatron into staying in the functionist universe]], Fangry's hatred for Tailgate, Roller's reaction to everything that's happened in his absence) and sucking them all up for an unusual amount of attention on a new character that many fans feel hasn't earned it. The CharacterShilling she gets in issue 7 of Lost Light doesn't help. Outside of this Anode comes across as an attempt at a LovableRogue that lacks the charisma or the intrigue that the role really needs.
