* SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic: With Bloober's regular Arkadiusz Reikowski and Akira Yamaoka of ''VideoGame/SilentHill'' cooperating on the music, it's no wonder [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMQJxpVRh9I the complete product]] is a stunning, moody soundtrack that excellently racks up the creep factor. In fact, Yamaoka's participation was one of the game's selling points.

* CompleteMonster: [[BigBad The Maw]] is a malicious monster born from the trauma Richard Tarkowski inflicted on Lilianne Rekowicz. The Maw exploits Lilianne's desire to save herself and her sister Marianne when the two are trapped in the house fire by manipulating Lilianne to free it from her mind, where it goes to the nearby Niwa resort to inflict a massacre there. [[DemonicPossession It possesses bodies]] to kill people before leaving its hosts as rotting corpses with dozens dead, [[WouldHurtAChild children included]], and very few survivors. Not killing Lilianne only due to dying itself because of their spiritual connection, The Maw sees [[PlayerCharacter Marianne]] and decides to take the medium's body for itself so it can sever its connection with Liliane before discarding her.

* EnjoyTheStorySkipTheGame: There has been some sentiment that the game would work better as a movie, as while combat is next to nonexistent and the puzzles are repetitive, it's plot and atmosphere are above average.

* UnfortunateImplications: As explained by [[https://mobile.twitter.com/bobvids/status/1356295962524835840 this post]], the game presents Lily's trauma as not only being her own fault but as a direct result of someone else's trauma. The fact that the player [[spoiler: is told she MUST be killed to prevent her trauma from escaping]] seems to send the message that abuse victims should not be sympathized with and should be [[spoiler: killed so as to prevent the cycle of trauma from continuing.]] Needless to say several people took issue with this message.

* GeniusBonus: One of the Memory Shards involving Ursula has her discussing what she plans to do with her patient Richard, which includes treating him with paroxetine. [[spoiler: Specifically, ''450 mg'' of paroxetine, an antidepressant, which is nine times the maximum recommended daily dose and, even at therapeutic levels, would do absolutely nothing to treat Richard's catatonia. As Ursula is a nurse by profession, it's effectively foreshadowing that by this point, Ursula is no longer at the wheel.]]
