* CompleteMonster (2005) (original French version and UK dub): [[AnIcePerson Zeebad]] ruled over the world as a frozen wasteland in the distant past, until he was defeated by Zebedee and [[SealedEvilInACan imprisoned]] for 10,000 years. Zeebad is accidentally released and begins his plan to collect three magic diamonds to freeze the sun and cover the world in an EndlessWinter. Zeebad also brings life to a wooden toy soldier named Sam and makes him his minion. Zeebad kidnaps Dougal and orders Sam to torture him for information, but when Dougal is rescued he faces Zeebad and wins, pushing him off a cliff to kill him. Zeebad steals the first gem and forces them to give up the map by threatening to eat Brian. When Zeebad's train crashes and Sam is injured, Zeebad [[BadBoss abandons Sam without a second thought]]. Sam later confronts Zeebad, and Zeebad realizes that the gem is in him, so he kills Sam and takes the diamond out of him, beginning his plan to freeze the world and [[NearVillainVictory nearly succeeding]].

Critics and audiences reviewed it as well as you'd expect.

* SoBadItsGood: For some, the American version of the 2005 movie. The hilariously unfitting [[ReferenceOverdosed pop culture references]], gratuitous [[FillingTheSilence silence-filling]] and obnoxious voice acting make for an experience that has to be seen to be believed.
* SoOkayItsAverage: The original version of the 2005 movie; it's seen as an okay and serviceable movie, but nothing really special, which makes it less entertaining than the American dub.

* TearDryer: Near the end of the 2005 film after Dougal and his friends managed to re-imprison Zeebad by placing three diamonds on the roundabout, they all celebrate until Dougal asks about Florence and they immediately fall silent as they turn to Mr. Rusty, Basil and Coral trying to wake Florence up, who is seemingly lifeless and appears to have died due to the freezing conditions of the frozen roundabout. As everyone looks on with complete sadness, Dougal tearfully begs Florence to wake up. Then, when he licks her face as he begins to mourn for her, Florence begins to move again to everyone's surprise. This prompts Dougal to revive Florence by continuing to lick her face until she fully wakes up to everyone and Dougal's relief and joy before Florence thanks Dougal for saving her life and those who are trapped on the roundabout.
* WhatDoYouMeanItWasntMadeOnDrugs: The general aesthetic and atmosphere are reminiscent of the more innocent and whimsical end of psychedelia, and there are particular allegations of drug references involving Dylan the hippie rabbit.
* {{Woolseyism}}: This kind of makes this the British version of ''Anime/SamuraiPizzaCats''.

Dougal gets Brian to help him to stretch Mr. Pickles back to his size, but only to rip him apart into a pile of bits. Of course, Florence is shocked when she sees the remains in a paper bag and sternly tells him to put him back together. Dougal calls for Zebedee to repair Mr. Pickles, but the wizard accidentally makes Mr. Pickles disappear, leaving only a scorch mark, due to Mr. Rusty taking out the magic gasket which made his powers wonky. Dougal explains what has happened to Mr. Rusty which makes him now completely nervous to place the magic gasket without his lucky teddy, fearing about what is going to happen like last time.\\
'''Fortunately:''' Everyone reassures him that he didn't need his lucky teddy to fix things, which gives Mr. Rusty enough confidence to place the magic gasket back into the Magic Roundabout without his teddy. He manages to place the magic gasket correctly to everyone's relief as it functions the Magic Roundabout properly where it reinstates Zebedee's magic to full power allowing him to restore Mr. Rusty's lucky teddy.

* MemeticMutation: [=YouTuber=] JimmyHere, known for his You Laugh You Lose Twitch streams, his fans have often compared him to resembling Doogal from the CGI movie, much to Jimmy's denial and irritation.

The original French version has each of the horrifying faces introduce themselves, while yelling at the top of their lungs, while the English dub has them all laughing loudly and evilly as they taunt Buxton. Neither version is any less terrifying.
** In the "Rustlers" episode, Dougal tries to find who tied up Ermintrude earlier, only to come across [[https://i.imgur.com/ZVTelka.png this giant lion]] that seems to pop up rather jarringly. It's then revealed that [[spoiler:the lion is only a giant mask that Ermintrude made to play a joke on Dougal]].
** Also in ''Dougal and the Blue Cat'', the entire gang (except for Dougal) being captured by Buxton's army borderlines between being this and a TearJerker.
** Many people have noted that there's something oddly terrifying about the theme tune. Music/BillBailey once suggested there was a "secret hidden Satanic verse" about Zebedee having his legs cut off.

*** The film's opening nightmare scene involves Zebedee being cornered by his arch-nemesis Zeebad at night in a snow capped landscape. Zeebad knocks Zebedee off the cliff and just manages to get his grip on the edge of Zeebad's ice fortress. Just then, Zeebad advances towards Zebedee, who is still clinging on for his life, and blasts him off, sending him falling into the abyss below, right before Zebedee wakes up from his nightmare.
*** In the beginning of the film, just when Dougal is about sneak some candy from the candy cart, he accidentally makes the candy cart go out of control and starts zipping around the village, causing Basil, Coral and Florence to run to the roundabout for safety. Afterwards, the cart goes up a sidewalk sign like a ramp where Dougal falls out and letting the cart crash on top of the roundabout. Very shortly after crashing, the cart explodes, heavily damaging the top of the roundabout so much that it spins backwards and out of control with the children still on it, who are soon joined by Mr. Rusty who attempts to shut it down, only to find that the gears are begin to freeze in icicles. The answer to that is Zeebad, who emerges from the hole on top of the roundabout and freezes the roundabout all over, trapping the children and Mr. Rusty.
*** To get the first diamond from the lava invested mountain, the group must travel over the narrow and crooked bridge to get to it. However, Train goes over a chunk that soon falls, startling him and nearly falls off, with Dougal and Ermintrude hanging on for dear life in the carriage. Fortunately, Dylan fiddles with the controls and allowing Train to pull himself back up. Just as things are getting okay, the bridge starts to crack, prompting Train to dash across it to the other side.
** The CGI reboot series' episode "Egghead Dylan" has Dylan receiving a bump on his head, causing a 360-degree change in his personality. Seeing him so overly hyperactive, topped with a creepy googly wide-eyed look, can be rather jarring and just feels so wrong.
