Unfortunate Implications is Flame Bait and thus can not be included in YMMV pages + it requires citations

* OvershadowedByControversy: While the Arknverse had a modest fan base in its heyday, it's remembered nowadays for the ugly behind-the-scenes drama that plagued the Arknthology. The working relationships between [=DeathlyLogic=], [=Type0Negative=], and [=FeralWasteland=] (the three most prominent creators of Arknverse) were extremely volatile, leading the latter two men to depart from and return to the franchise multiple times between 2016 and 2018. Among other things, [=Type0Negative=] was unhappy with [=DeathlyLogic=]'s characterization of Gilgamesh, while [=FeralWasteland=] found fault with [=DeathlyLogic=]'s attitude (which he described as "prideful" and "egotistical"). This led to major delays in plotting, numerous plotline [[SoftReboot reboots]], and the cancellations of numerous spinoff series'. Both men would finally depart from the franchise permanently in mid-2018.
* UnfortunateImplications: [=DeathlyLogic=] removed the references to Michaelis/Azrael's sexuality almost entirely in the early episodes of ''Solar's Crimson'' to avoid the potentially negative implications of a gay man ending up Hell (and [[NightmareFuel what could be done to him there]]).

** A number of fans made light of the fact that Ellpagg always appears to be wearing {{Guyliner}} during his most intense emotional outbursts. [=DeathlyLogic=] even made a video spoofing it. Then DL revealed that [[spoiler: every time Ellpagg is wearing black eye makeup, he’s actually being possessed or influenced by The Carver. And it was confirmed onscreen (in ''Acquaintences'')]].
** In Chapter 7 of ''The Writings of Raziel'', we learn that Raziel began to seek out the company of humans on Earth some time after Azazel's sentencing, because he found himself “cold and hurt from the ways of the Aristocracy, Religious Leaders, and the overall lack of hope, empathy, and joy in the everyday meanderings of life”. Initially, the reader assumes that this is because of the Watchers affair. Several chapters later, however, it's revealed that [[spoiler: sometime prior to the Watchers incident, the Council of Paradisium turned on him (for the crime of violating his vow of celibacy and producing children) and had his family brutally executed in public -- while he was ForcedToWatch]]. No wonder he wanted nothing to do with the Arkn cause.
** In "The Court of Three Kings", we learn that Uriel sent himself to The Infernous because he felt that he deserved to suffer for "abandon[ing] his people"; the wiki further revealed that Uriel defected after he was jailed for beheading a member of his own council, after discovering that they sent his friend and fellow knight, Ellpagg, to The Infernous as a prisoner to be tortured and corrupted. That in itself is bad, but it becomes even more heart-wrenching when it's revealed (in the ''Michael's Camera'' episode "Call To Arms") that Ellpagg isn't just Uriel's friend, but his ''son''.
*** It gets worse a bit later, when we learn the ''real'' reason Uriel chose to send himself to The Infernous: [[spoiler: he made a deal with the Carver, and agreed to create a physical vessel for Malek's scrolls -- in exchange for full control over the Infernous. Not only did he make a deal with the arch-enemy of his people, but he had the power to free Ellpagg from his torment at any time -- and instead chose to wallow in his own self pity]]. Abandoned his people, indeed. The in-universe [[TheReveal reveal]] is enough to cause a complete, centuries-long falling out between the Arknza.
*** This also makes Malek's efforts to snap Uriel out of his Infernous-induced stupor (and his anger over Uriel's refusal to do so) a bit more heartwrenching: Malek doesn't just want Uriel to "wake up" because he's his friend, he wants him to do it because ''Ellpagg is suffering''!

* HarsherInHindsight: In Chapter 7 of ''The Writings of Raziel'', we learn that Raziel began to seek out the company of humans on Earth some time after Azazel's sentencing, because he found himself “cold and hurt from the ways of the Aristocracy, Religious Leaders, and the overall lack of hope, empathy, and joy in the everyday meanderings of life”. Initially, the reader assumes that this is because of the Watchers affair. Several chapters later, it's revealed that [[spoiler: sometime prior to the Watchers incident, the Council of Paradisium turned on him (for the crime of violating his law of celibacy and producing children) and had his family brutally executed in public -- while he was ForcedToWatch]]. No wonder he wanted nothing to do with the Arkn.
** In "The Court of Three Kings", we learn that Uriel sent himself to The Infernous because he felt he deserved to suffer for "abandon[ing] his people"; the wiki further revealed that Uriel had left his kingdom after being jailed for beheading a member of his own council -- after discovering that they had sent his "friend", Ellpagg, to the Infernous as a prisoner (rather than to kill the Carver). That in itself is bad enough -- but his story becomes even more heart-wrenching when it's revealed (in the ''Michael's Camera'' episode "Call To Arms") that Ellpagg wasn't just Uriel's friend, but his ''son''.
TheReveal in-universe is enough to cause a complete falling out between the Arknza, which apparently lasts for ''centuries''.
*** This also makes Malek's efforts to snap Uriel out of his Infernous-induced stupor (and his anger over Uriel's refusal to do so) a bit more heartwrenching. He doesn't just want Uriel to end his own suffering because he's his friend, he wants him to do it because ''Ellpagg is suffering''!
** In a meta example: the brutal fight between Raphael and Azrael, in light of the bitter falling-out between [=FeralWasteland=] and [=DeathlyLogic=].
