* FanonDiscontinuity: Because Chef was such a well-loved character, many fans prefer to ignore this episode's existence for obvious reasons. Not helped by how needlessly brutal and disturbing Chef's death is.

* DarknessInducedAudienceApathy: Arguably considered to be the most nihilistic of all South Park episodes, even by the show's standards. From its dark subject matter about pedophilia, to Chef's grisly fate at the end, and the fact that the Super Adventure Club (a group of [[WouldHurtAChild child-rapists]]) [[KarmaHoudini don't face any comeuppance for their actions]]. This is one episode that most fans feel uncomfortable watching a second time.

* SomeAnvilsNeedToBeDropped: The message regarding barely concealed Scientology metaphor of the Super Adventure Club is even blunter than their previous episode on the subject. The "Super Adventure Club" is a fruity club that ruined a "fun guy" and their beliefs are far more absurd and preposterous than the other major religions. Unlike Mormonism and other religions, Stone and Parker make it clear there is nothing redeeming or of value that the "Super Adventure Club" brings.

Note that if the event in question is something inevitable, such as people dying, that's not necessarily this trope. Everyone dies eventually, as far as we know. It would be this trope if the death had some link to how they appeared on screen.

* HarsherInHindsight: Chef dying in this episode was bad enough, but what makes this more heartbreaking is that his voice actor Isaac Hayes would also die two years after the episode aired and that it was written completely unintentionally.

Actors die. It's not Harsher In Hindsight unless there's something particularly prescient and related about this on-screen death.

* HarsherInHindsight: The death of Chef becomes even more painful when his voice actor, Isaac Hayes, passed away 2 years after this episode aired.

* CompleteMonster: William Connelly could be a good candidate for this territory, since obsession that he has for turn Jo into a pedophile is played very seriously, even worse, he does it and gets away scot-free. The worst part is that even Cartman, an infant terrible and sociopathic, hates him. While Connelly not wanting to kill the boys, he, however, does not seem to mind psychologically traumatizing children in order to get their "marlocks".
