* RomanticPlotTumor: One of the frequently-cited problems with the story is that the basic premise of a supernatural whodunit in which Red Riding Hood must uncover a werewolf {{serial killer}}'s identity and EveryoneIsASuspect is actually interesting, but the film dedicates too much time to the dull and cliched {{love triangle}} involving Valerie, Peter and Henry, which mostly exists in an attempt to appeal to ''Literature/{{Twilight}}'' fans as opposed to enhancing to ''this'' story. It doesn't help that there's not much narrative tension to be derived from the love triangle, given it's made obvious from the start Valerie prefers Peter and [[HopelessSuitor Henry never truly had a chance]].

** The revelation that [[spoiler:Valerie is descended from werewolves and has the potential to be a powerful werewolf herself]]. The film could've leaned into this more, [[spoiler:with the wolf potentially representing Valerie's more rebellious or wild side, and her being tempted by the freedom and power being a werewolf could offer her (especially considering how restrictive life could be for a young medieval woman living in a rural village and Valerie's noted dissatisfaction with her current life). However, Valerie's werewolf ancestry is really only brought up in the context of why the Wolf targets her and she instantly rejects the idea of being a werewolf without any further exploration; Valerie's onscreen rebelliousness also tends to be limited to her wanting to date a bad boy her mother disapproves of]].

** Valerie being bound and tied up and used as a sacrifice for The Wolf. Her face obscured by the Wolf shape metal mask. A few claustrophobic shots of her first person view from inside the mask as well. And the sounds of her panicked hollow breathing.
** Peter being accused of being The Wolf and thrown into the brazen bull, which thankfully wasn't lit on fire at the time. His attempts to escape the torture contraption and his screams for Valerie begin to sound more monsterous.

** As Father Solomon tried to sacrifice Valerie, The Wolf attacks Father Solomon and bites his hand ''clean off''. The hand falls to the ground, followed immediately by gushing blood and Father Solomon's painful screaming.
** The nightmare Valerie has of her grandmother: she's lying in bed next to her and suddenly notices what big eyes her Grandmother has. Grandmother then flashes a uncanny creepy wide smile as Valerie comments on what big ears she has. Just as Valerie takes notice of her big teeth, Grandmother's voice deepens to a unnatural low evil tone and kills Valerie while a wolf snarl is heard. It's enough to make Valerie spring upright from her feverish slumber.

** It's revealed that Henry's father [[spoiler: had an affair with Henry's future mother-in-law and fathered Lucie, whom he never knew was his half-sister; both Adrian and Lucie are later killed before he ever found this out]]. Unfortunate Implication entries need at least one source (such as an article with multiple opinions) to demonstrate it's not just one person's opinion. There's also nothing I recall from the film suggesting bestiality; the film indeed implies that a human woman and werewolf man will have a romance but he's human most of the time. There's no indication they'd do anything while he's in his wolf form and he shows up as a wolf to prove to her he can control his powers.

* UnfortunateImplications: [[spoiler: When Valerie is reunited with Wolf!Peter at the end.]] The last shot of the movie gave some hints of bestiality.

Offscreen Moment Of Awesome is not YMMV, Its The Same Now It Sucks is when an installment in a franchise is too similar to a previous installment in the same franchise, if the film agrees with the character then said character is not a strawman ergo Strawman Has A Point is misused, if Twilight came out before this film then it can't be in hindsight.
