** The shadowy version of Popee that starts attacking him in "Dream". The NightmareFace it has is absolutely horrifying. It's face is bloodied, realistically textured, entirely lacks eyes and has a face in seemingly perpetual anguish.
*** [[spoiler:The CruelTwistEnding that Popee, Kedamono and Papi, after apparently escaping from their SharedDream, were DeadAllAlong is probably the most horrifying ending of all the series. It doesn't help that their bloodied corpses are ''smiling'']].
** The [[SlasherSmile face]] Popee makes in "Swallower" right before he swallows Kedamono alive. The blood covering his face doesn't help.
*** Soon afterwards, he decides to swallow the sword he was holding, impaling them both. The episode ends with Popee's dead body on the sword being spun around by the wind like some sort of messed up weather vane.
** [[TheDreaded The White Wolf]]. A giant, well, White Wolf that appears only twice in the series, but is pretty unverving when it shows up. Not very much is known about it, but if one thing is for certain, Popee, [[HeroicBSOD Kedamono]] and even ''Papi'' are absolutely terrified of it.

Despite being aimed at children, it has a lot of blood, gore, killings of the characters, characters eating each other (which is a sexual fetish known as "vorarephilia", or the shortened term "vore") and other disturbing, creepy and weird stuff going on. This is likely because Japan has different views on what is acceptable and what is NOT acceptable for a young audience. If you thought this show was more kid-friendly than you expected and then saw the page image, the blood on Popee's eyes might give a vital clue.
