* JunkRare: Obtaining Spinda in these games can be quite a hassle. While many Pokémon that used to be exclusive to the "swarms" mechanic in the originals have become available in the Grand Underground in the remakes, Spinda is not one of them. To makes things worse, thanks to an incompatibility related to how the games render Spinda's unique spot patterns, it cannot be transferred from Pokémon HOME to ''Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl'' or vice-versa, which means that not even obtaining Spinda from a previous generation, Pokémon GO (from which you also can't transfer Spinda to HOME), or the GTS can be used to fill its Pokédex entry. Therefore, the only way to obtain Spinda in BDSP (besides trading) is to wait for it to be the swarming Pokémon of the day. The odds of it being Spinda are 1/28, so it can take weeks for it to appear. All of this for a Pokémon with an awful spread of 60 points on every base stat.

Seinfeld Is Unfunny is now a disambiguation page.

* SeinfeldIsUnfunny: ''Diamond'' and ''Pearl'' were very popular when they came out, for finally introducing online play to the series and for being the flagship ''Pokémon'' games on Nintendo's best-selling console ever. However, as ''Platinum'' improved directly on the original Sinnoh pair and ''[=HeartGold=]'' and ''[=SoulSilver=]'' made a strong case to many fans for being the best games in the series, the original ''Diamond'' and ''Pearl'' gained a reputation of being extremely slow, outdated, and outclassed games, with many people considering them to be among the worst core series games.

** In the original game, the Veilstone Game Corner's music was touted as [[SugarWiki/AwesomeMusic one of the best in the game]], but after the Game Corner was not only left out of ''[[VideoGame/PokemonRubyAndSapphire Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire]]'', but also had no replacement, many fans were worried that the Game Corner's music would go outright unremixed. While the Game Corner is indeed left out, it ''is'' given a suitable replacement in the form of the Metronome Style Shop, carrying over the much-beloved [[VirtualPaperDoll fashion feature]] from Gen VI, and the Style Shop also comes with a remix of the original Veilstone Game Corner music, satisfying fans who were scared to see it go.

** To those that miss Pikachu and Eevee's original cry, an item that allows you to change the music to the DS version once you become Champion also changes their cries from the normal PokemonSpeak they have in most of the game to their original cry (or in Eevee's case, the updated cry it had prior to ''VideoGame/PokemonLetsGoPikachuAndLetsGoEevee''.

Fans of ''Platinum'' love the ExtendedGameplay, the much-beloved Battle Frontier, and mock ''BDSP'' for having neither of them or simply for being a 1:1 remake with little to differentiate themselves from the originals. Meanwhile, ''BDSP'' fans cite the many quality of life improvements, the well-received Grand Underground, the fully 3D graphics, and the fact that it was made in Unity (which makes it [[ComeForTheGameStayForTheMods much easier to mod compared to older games]]); in their minds, though ''Platinum'' has aged far better than most of the series' older games, it is locked to an outdated version of the gameplay system and is still agonizingly slow.

* UnexpectedCharacter: In the Grand Underground, there's a handful of Pokémon that can be caught outside of the ''Diamond/Pearl'' Regional Dex before beating the game. However, there's three there are several Pokémon families that weren't even in the Platinum Dex expansion to begin with that led to some surprise: Smoochum/Jynx, Smoochum/Jynx in both versions, Teddiursa/Ursaring and Pinsir.
Pinsir in ''Shining Pearl'', as well as Omanyte/Omastar, Kabuto/Kabutops, Lileep/Cradily, and Anorith/Armaldo due to their respective fossils becoming available in the Grand Underground just after you beat the mascot legendary.
* SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome: Some of the water effects are quite nice - such as the lakes having darker water or ripples appearing when you walk up to the water from a beach. Additionally, some of the trainers have nice animations such as Fishermen casting their Pokéballs like lures, swimmers rolling the Pokéballs off of their shoulders, or Fantina doing a pirouette. Volkner's gym is also quite beautiful looking with gears in the background that move.

** Candice, due to being the [[KryptoniteIsEverywhere Ice-type Gym Leader]], especially in ''Diamond and Pearl'' ( even if she has a [[BareFistedMonk Medicham]] for some reason, but it's extremely frail, so it'll only be a problem if whatever you're trying to beat her with only Fighting attacks). In ''Platinum'', she's a little bit harder however, due to her very fragile Snover being replaced by a bulkier mon (at least physically), Piloswine, who can hit you hard with Earthquake if you don't KO it in one hit. Her Abomasnow has her moveset reworked so she can hit steel types reliably with Focus Blast (she also gets Water Pulse to hit fire types, though a fire type still won't have any trouble KOing it) and her Medicham is removed in favor of her new ace Froslass : if Abomasnow came before her (which is probable), Froslass will be very hard to hit due to her ability Snow Cloak and it will only get worse after she stacks up Double Team.

I don't really agree Candice in harder in DP than Platinum and I'm sure her Platinum Froslass has given way more trouble to players than anything she has in DP.

She's slightly harder in ''Diamond and Pearl'', where she has a [[BareFistedMonk Medicham]] for some reason, but it's extremely frail, so it'll only be a problem if whatever you're trying to beat her with is weak to Fighting attacks.

* NotBadassEnoughForFans: Barry is often percieved as not as badass as Blue or Silver... despite having his highest leveled Pokémon being Level 85, and having ''temporarily dethroned [[MemeticBadass Red]] for the strongest trainer in the games'', something of which Blue and Silver never even came close to doing the last time they were seen in ''VideoGame/PokemonFireRedAndLeafGreen'' and ''VideoGame/PokemonGoldAndSilver'' respectively. Blue's highest leveled mon is 75 in the former, and Silver's highest leveled mon is 50 in the latter. Even taking into account ''VideoGame/PokemonHeartGoldAndSoulSilver'', Silver is still a good 20 levels lower than Barry by virtue of all of his mons capping at Level 60. Even to this very day, after 4 generations more worth of games and rivals, Barry's team is ''still'' the strongest leveled rival team in the entire core series games. This could be attributed to the reputation of FriendlyRival characters being perceived as "weaklings" and completely ignores the actual power of Barry's teams in comparison to [[InformedAttribute the allegedly badass Blue or Silver]] or that Barry does not make much contribution to the main plot, losing a fight against Team Galactic offscreen.

** On the female side, Fantina's mannish face has made some people think that she's a crossdressing man like ''Emerald''’s Tucker.

* TrollingCreator: Someone on the development team definitely thought it was a funny joke to hype up players with an in-game trade for a Haunter that could potentially evolve into Gengar only for it to turn out that the Haunter can't evolve due to it holding an Everstone. The NPC's dialogue after the trade even comes off like she's taunting the player for pulling off such a stunt. Even worse is that players have found out that it's impossible for players to troll other players with Everstone trades keeping trade-evolution Pokémon from evolving as they will evolve anyway even if they're holding an Everstone.
