** Later updates introduced cooldown timers for certain missions. These timers range from 2 hours to up to 6 hours. Some people feel these timers are unnecessary in a game like this.
** One update in NEXT increased the timers for crop growing. Depending on the crop, players would expect to wait anywhere from 2 hours to up to 48 hours for growth times before harvesting. Many people complained that this ruined one way of making a lot of money in the game, since for a while, another way to make money in the game, commodity trading between different planetary systems of differing economies, was broken simply because ''the trade commodities did not appear in the trade hubs for purchase.'' These crop timers were later reduced after many complaints.

** A brief one during the "Infinite Worlds" trailer for the otherwise [[SugarWiki/VisualEffectsOfAwesome amazing looking]] game: at one point, the player character emerges from an alien ocean to look up at a nearby planet in the sky while some native wildlife runs away from him. Kind of jarring for a trailer with much better-looking content for the game.

Added the Dash Jump as a Good Bad Bug.

Added DiffLines:

* GoodBadBugs: [[VideoGameDashing The Dash Jump.]] Performing a melee attack while walking/running makes you lunge forward, giving extra momentum. Use the jet-pack just as you do this and you retain your added momentum while flying through the air. It's useful for crossing large gaps as well as general movement, as it's faster than your standard running speed, and doesn't consume [[SprintMeter stamina]].

Given the hate has died down, this is not necessary.

* OvershadowedByControversy: Of the "deceptive marketing" variety. Many promised or alluded features were not in the game when it released, leading many people to think they have been deceived, something which is reflected in both professional and user reviews. [[RuleOfCautiousEditingJudgement Leave it at that.]]

** "Inventory full" is another one you're quickly going to hate. The only one that's worse is "No free slots in suit inventory" meaning you just picked something up, but it [[LostForever vanished into nothingness]] simply because you didn't have enough inventory space.

* MemeticBadass: In a complete 180 from how fans felt about him [[LyingCreator before]], Sean Murray of all people has become this in the game's fandom. Rivaling Creator/MorganFreeman in terms of god like awesomeness. And it's all thanks to the game's many [[WinBackTheCrowd updates]]. Ditto for the rest of Hello Games.

** "Inventory full" is another one you're quickly going to hate. That all of the announcements are in this monotone droning voice doesn't help.

* NeverLiveItDown: It is going to be ''extremely'' tough for Subverted. While Sean Murray and Hello Games to shake have not completely shaken off the backlash damage to their reputation since the game's launch, many fans have already forgiven them and shown their support due to the updates the game has been getting. It's become so good that in the eyes of [=NMS=].fans, Sean Murray and Hello Games are seen as [[MemeticBadass memetic badasses]].

* NightmareFuel: Some abandoned buildings on planets are overrun with some kind of fleshy, tentacle-laden... things. Most of it is harmless. Some, not so much. And the not-so-dangerous things you can find in those overrun buildings? You will routinely find them outside on the planet's surface. This begs the question of whether those tentacles are part of the natural ecosystem, or TheCorruption.
