* SpecialEffectsFailure: The animatronics are better then the attempt in the third movie, but JimHenson's costumes they ain't. Very noticeable during the PowerRangersInSpace crossover

* TheScrappy: Venus has almost no fans even among those who know about her, because she's seen as a MarySue with her magic. She got such a bad reception that we will never see any female turtles. Ever. In fact the idea of any female mutants ''at all'' has not been touched on since then. Thus the turtles will probably never canonically hook up. Thanks a ''lot,'' Venus.
** Some fans consider her a CreatorsPet on top of this, due to the ease with which she permanently declawed Shredder and the Foot Clan, something that the original four had tried for ''years'' to do and never succeeded in.
** As mentioned elsewhere, her [[TheScrappy Scrappy]] status was so bad that even Peter Laird [[BerserkButton hates her]].

Instead, she was written a CanonSue as mentioned above as well as reaching BlackHoleSue-levels to the point where one episode (Ironically-titled "Who Needs Her") outright stated that the Turtles needed her more than she needed them. Basically PositiveDiscrimination gone horribly wrong.

She has a very feminine shape, despite not being a mammal. And she can use magic to kick the butt of everything.

** That's not fair, way back in 1986 they tried to add a female turtle but Eastman and Laird [[ExecutiveVeto vetoed]] this and the character was changed into Mona Lisa from "Raphael Meets His Match." They ''still'' weren't satisfied with this and the character never appeared or was even mentioned ever again despite her episode having a SequelHook. The fact that they vehemently try to deny and squash any and all ideas of a female turtle or even a female mutant who can stand equal to them [[UnfortunateImplications doesn't reflect well]] on the franchise's creators. Especially since their main beef with characters like Venus and Mona has little to do with the fact that they may be poorly written and is [[GirlsHaveCooties simply because they're girls.]]
**** There is a fanfic somewhere written from her point of view, describing [[BodyHorror various painful surgeries]] she had to endure to look more 'feminine'(which would be masculine for turtles), [[IllGirl which made her get sick a lot]], her romance off the set with Raphael, the later brainwashing of the turtles to forget her, and her abuse at the hands of the 'Great One', whom she later starts haunting. It's HighOctaneNightmareFuel.
