* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Is Thor a well meaning father who for unknown reasons had to leave Torunn on Earth and couldn't help the Avengers, or a JerkassGod who abandoned his daughter to a hostile world ruled by a robot wishing to kill her and did nothing to prevent his friends from being murdered?

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: The film explains that Thor left Torunn on Earth so she would learn the same lesson he did, but it completely ignores that Thor only needed to learn it that way because his own father failed to instill it while he was growing up and went for the tough love approach to get it through. Thor makes no attempt to teach her at all and just figures she'll learn it on her own, which makes him come off as an amazingly lazy father. After all, it's not like Odin didn't have the time to raise Thor, and surely Thor could at least try given he has some understanding of where Odin's parenting style was lacking. Not to mention, he seems to think that teaching said lesson to his daughter is more important than the lives of his friends and people he swore to protect, seemingly never even trying to take out Ultron.
* WhatAnIdiot: James Rogers. He ends up activating the Iron Avengers and giving away their location to Ultron all based on the (not quite plausible) possibility that the robots had been programmed with the exact memories and personalities of the original Avengers, hoping that at least this was the case for his dad's robot.

* HarsherInHindsight: The idea of an AlternateUniverse where Ultron nearly succeeded with his goals would be explored at least twice more -- with ''ComicBook/AgeOfUltron'' for the comics and a ''WesternAnimation/WhatIf2021'' episode for the Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse.

* HarsherInHindsight: This film would not be [[WesternAnimation/WhatIf2021 the last time]] that Ultron took over the world and was nearly successful in wiping out organic life. The difference is, he (fortunately) does not have [[spoiler:the benefits of the completed Infinity Gems/Stones]] here.

Repair Dont Respond, The Great Character Alignment Debate, and only applies to specific moments.

* IdiotPlot: The Hulk could have solved the plot before it even began but didn't because he, or the people who refused to force him into the fight before hand, are either selfish or idiots. All of Hulk's friends are dead, their children are in danger of dying, and humanity is being tormented by a crazy robot, and he does nothing to help, despite being able to defeat Ultron so easily it's pathetic. He seems afraid of turning into a monster, but apparently that fear is more important than the lives of millions! If that isn't enough, the kids get him to fight rather easily by pissing him off, why didn't Tony or one of the other Avengers go to him before the situation got so bad and force him into it? Sure they have to deal with the Hulk, but at least that would have saved countless lives!
** To be fair, when the Hulk finally came out to battle Ultron, he was on the receiving end of a CurbStompBattle with Ultron easily managing to paralyse his arm with a PressurePoint. It was only through Jr.'s pushing Hulk past his RageBreakingPoint that Hulk was able to beat Ultron.

* TrueNeutral: According to Banner, the Hulk doesn't care about the world or Ultron and only wishes to be left alone, which is why he closed himself off from the rest of the world for decades. He only helped destroy Ultron after he came directly to Banner and attacked him, and immediately left with Betty after Ultron was destroyed.

** Not to mention, he seems to think that teaching said lesson to his daughter is more important than the lives of his friends and people he swore to protect, seemingly never even trying to take out Ultron.
