* NarmCharm: The ending of Marshmallow Surprise, where the main character and her brothers suddenly turn out to be werewolves and eat Mrs. Spooner, comes out of absolutely nowhere. And yet because of how ridiculous and random the twist is, it makes the story hilarious almost as if it's a deliberate parody of Stine's usual twist endings.

* SurprisinglyImprovedSequel: While most of the Tales to Give You Goosebumps entries had a mixed to middling reception, this has been lauded for the stories being more creative, funny and better thought out. Troy Steele in particular considers it one of his favorite books he covered.

* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: "Attack of the Christmas Present" abruptly ends with Robot Tag living up to its name when it tells Jack that he's now "It." While it's a clear pun that's foreshadowed by Robot Tag's name, there was space to imply that Jack's brother might've had his own problems with the creepy looking mask Jack originally received from their uncle.

Tastes Like Diabetes is no longer a trope. Moving examples to other tropes when applicable.

* EnsembleDarkhorse: A Holly Jolly Holiday is the most popular story, and one primary reason is Susie Snowflake, a parody of sugary sweet Christmas special characters. Eventually she got popular enough to be included in VideoGame/GoosebumpsHorrortown, while she was previously only mentioned in a prior Christmas event.

Splitting "Moments" tropes into their own pages.

* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments:
** The entirety of A Holly Jolly Holiday is hilarious, especially the main premise. It's about a girl whose older sister loves a completely sappy and corny Christmas special, and manages to find a video tape of it at the mall. But the video magically transforms the viewers into the movie's main character, Susie Snowflake, and the girl is horrified as her parents, sister, and even her dog turn into redheaded baking-obsessed idiots. In fact, it starts happening to the girl as well, who mentions she tried to swear at one point but could only say "Oh sugar cookies!"
** As mentioned by Blog/BloggerBeware, the ending of Marshmallow Surprise can be considered one. Basically the story builds up to a climax where Mrs. Spooner reveals that Marsha and her brothers are going to melt into goo as revenge for the pranks they've pulled on her, and then out of nowhere the kids turn out to be werewolves and eat her. It's so completely stupid it's hilarious.
* NightmareFuel:
** "Don't Sit On The Gronk" is definitely a BlackComedy about learning to follow instructions. It's also super-creepy. Brad receives the Gronk, which looks like a breathing Kooshball, and tosses away the paper that came with it. He proceeds to take the Gronk outside, play with it, and later sit on it when it grows to the size of a beanbag. Brad even notes the Gronk seems to enjoy it. Then the Gronk starts growing too big, so much that it crashes into the ceiling and nearly smothers him. His sister comes and bails him out while reading the instructions he had trashed. They are as follows: taking the Gronk outside causes it to grow uncontrollably, even after you bring it inside; playing with the Gronk makes it too aggressive, especially bouncing it; and don't sit on the Gronk, because it will sit on you in turn. Brad barely has time to go NowYouTellMe before we see a sound-effect of a SickeningCrunch. He certainly didn't deserve that.
** Sam getting trapped in the ballet with Ms. Boren in "Nutcracker Nightmare". After Sam complains that the ballet is boring, Ms. Boren casts a spell so that everyone is trapped listening for a long time. It's so long, in fact, that Sam grows out of her dress and her mother develops grey hair. Even the innocent orchestra and dancers aren't immune. Sam tries to leave, but she ends up running in place. Ms. Boren smiles and tells her the snack bar is closed during performances. Just as Sam tries to leave during intermission, Ms. Boren reminds her that the ballet has two acts.
** "A Holly Jolly Holiday": While it turns out that all the enchanted video cassette does is turn the family into brainwashed, cheery Christmas partiers, Jody reveals to her sister Beth that she got her a video of her favorite wrestling star from the same shop where she got the first one. And that's where the story ends! (Let's hope Beth never plays the cassette).
** "Marshmallow Surprise": While Marsha and her brothers are destructive pranksters, they are truly sorry for breaking Mrs. Spooner's mailbox by accident. She comes out on seeing the damage and invites them inside for hot chocolate. Marsha is suspicious, but follows and seems to enjoy the drink, while the marshmallows come later. As soon as the kids have drunk a few mouthfuls, Mrs. Spooner starts giving a HannibalLecture about how the kids are such miscreants, and in revenge she's turning them into marshmallows, using the hot chocolate to "melt" their bones. Marsha gets increasingly scared and asks to let them go home, saying they're really sorry and won't ever bother her again. (Then it becomes NightmareRetardant when Marsha and her brothers reveal it's the full moon, and start howling. Marsha was faking her fear as part of an OhCrapFakeout. It turns out enchanted hot chocolate does nothing to werewolves, but they are hungry and angry about being duped. Mrs. Spooner barely stands a chance).
** "The Double Dip Horror": Twins Rachel and Wynona are impersonating each other as camp counselors so that one can ski for free while the other teaches skiing lessons. They start becoming victims of near-misses and almost-horrific accidents, eventually blaming it on Bobby Judd, an obnoxious camper. At the end, when Rachel is waiting for Bobby on a slope, the camp head reveals to Wynona that Bobby is actually a murderous ghost that targets identical twins. Wynona realizes belatedly that she left her sister to die. Brrrrrr.
** "Santa's Little Helpers": Two Jerkass older siblings Beth and Spenser get ambushed by Santa's elves, being mistaken for runaways from the workshop due to their red coats. Far from being a jolly old man that gives toys to kids, Santa is a cruel overseer and boss. His elves are no better, willing to throw their so-called coworkers under the bus. The kids beg for their lives from Santa, who wants to sentence them to eternal labor and get one chance to prove their identities. When the elves march them to their house, their little sister Diana opens the door. She ends up parroting their words about her not being their sister and mentions they are liars, which is all the elves need to know before dragging Spencer and Beth back to the North Pole. As the elves and their captives leave, with Spenser and Beth reduced to begging futilely, Diana cheerfully asks the elves to tell Santa she was good this year.
