Ladybug can summon something designed to help defeat the villain(s), purify magically charged beings, and undo all consequences of the battle with very few exceptions. Cat Noir can break one object, and this power doesn't have the same tide-turning guarantee as the Lucky Charm. At this point, it was expected, since the show seemed to have a “one power per Miraculous” rule in effect, that made this dynamic easily accepted, especially since the heroes were shown to be capable of using their powers creatively. Her later powers, like accessing the Miracle Box through her yo-yo and creating Magical Charms, however only stuck out more due to growing complaints over the show's treatment of Adrien, since the show decided that the only other character to get a similar buff in powers available was the BigBad, creating a notable case of CantCatchUp, not helped by several episodes where Cataclysm wasn’t required, making Chat Noir seem more superfluous, beyond being a LivingMcGuffin.

** Fans also feel that the constant addition of new Miraculous Heroes as the show goes on is starting to be a bit too much. Season 2 started this trend with the introductions of Alya/Rena Rouge, Nino/Carapace, Chloé/Queen Bee, and Nathalie/Mayura. There wasn't much fuss over it as all four were major supporting characters and the episodes were spaced out enough for some breathing room. Chloé in particular, had an arc focused on her and her backstory so her being accepted as a new hero in ''Maledictator'' felt meaningful. Season 3 introduced five more with Luka/Viperion, Kagami/Ryuko, Max/Pegasus, Alix/Bunnix, and Kim/King Monkey. It wasn't too bad here, although Party Crasher was considered to be a very weak episode. Season 4 would be when fans would start to put their foot down as no more than eight new heroes were introduced, with half of them debuting in the same episode and not even having time for transformation sequences to boot. Zoé is also considered a sour spot as she automatically becomes a hero one episode after her debut episode despite other characters being around for seasons longer.

** By the end of season 5, Félix Agreste is ultimately portrayed as a true hero who, like the rest of Marinette's allies, [[spoiler:deserves to keep his Miraculous permanently]]...which ignores the fact that he essentially caused season 5's plot to happen by [[spoiler:willingly delivering all the Miraculouses sans Ladybug and Cat Noir's to the BigBad so he can get the Peacock Miraculous]]. And the fact that, not only did he never get a proper moment to atone for this, but that he continued to do morally-questionable things throughout season 5, including [[spoiler:using a sentimonster to wipe multiple people from existence]]. Needless to say, a number of fans didn't exactly buy it.

** Nino was the only one of the main characters who hadn't fallen into BaseBreakingCharacter territory for the first three seasons thanks to his positive attitude, his overall healthy and supportive friendship with Adrien and getting the Turtle Miraculous, which made him a fan favorite. But from fourth season he began to gain detractors, starting with "Rocketear" where he stalks Alya and gets akumatized by a meaningless misunderstanding, in addition to revealing his identity as Carapace and Rena Rouge’s identity to Adrien. He later becomes more of a jerk in later episodes, such as in “Illusion” where he goes over-the-top with his plan to defeat Monarch, and he deliberately gets someone akumatized for it, getting his best friend in trouble with his father.

* DesignatedHero: Ms. Bustier is meant to be seen as a CoolTeacher whom everyone (including [[AlphaBitch Chloé]]) loves and is fair to her students. However, the fact that she's fallen victim to AdultsAreUseless more than once, up to and including being quick to punish innocent students even when they're not at fault, combined with a [[MisplacedKindergartenTeacher hands-off approach to conflict resolution]] that [[KarmaHoudini leaves actual troublemakers unchecked]], has left several fans wondering if she even deserves this reputation.

** While Season 1 appeared to set up a civilian connection between Marinette and Gabriel Agreste through their mutual interest in fashion, they ultimately have no real meaningful interactions outside of talking about Adrien. And since the show never depicted Marinette going from seeing Gabriel as her idol in ''Origins'' to an absent and cold father in ''Collector'', and Hawk Moth also shows minimal attention to Marinette outside of being any other potential akuma victim, it makes the emotional stake of any potential identity reveal between them [[CollateralAngst entirely dependent on the fact that Adrien would be upset]].

Luka, the other rival, was shown to have gained Marinette's affections from the start, but he did not appear to be much different from any other boy who had a crush on Marinette/Ladybug before like Nathanael and Nino, and yet, she showed no interest in them. In fact, he displayed not much more personality traits other than being a mellow NiceGuy for most of the seasons. Add the fact he appeared only in a handful of episodes too, making one wonder why he would have attracted Marinette's attention to begin with. It doesn't help that [[PutOnABus both Luka and Kagami were essentially tossed aside within the first two episodes of Season 4]] and have been used as little more than reminders that the Love Square is endgame. Thus causing both ships and the Love Square to become completely unbelievable in the process, with the latter teetering into RomanticPlotTumor territory.
** Félix and Kagami's romance comes completely out of nowhere, especially considering that the duo haven't had any kind of major interaction until the Season 5 finale and fall in love in just two episodes. For starters, the episode focused on developing their relationship opens with Félix disturbingly spying on Kagami and despite kidnapping her later in the episode and revealing that he stalked her some time after they met, she [[EasilyForgiven easily forgives him]] only when he tells her that they're similar. Later although they become an OfficialCouple, the show never explains what caused them to develop feelings for each other, apart from the fact that they could both sentimonsters.

* CharacterPerceptionEvolution: While Adrien/Cat Noir's base-breaking status developed fairly early in the show's run, Marinette/Ladybug used to be near universally beloved by fans. This started changing at some point during season 3, thanks to a combination of her shortcomings as a character becoming more numerous and blatant (as was happening with a number of other characters at the time), Adrien fans getting tired of what they perceived as other fans bashing their favorite character and deciding to give her the same treatment in turn, and a glut of "salt fic" writers constantly ignoring her flaws and turning her into a perfect angel who deserves everything on a silver platter while her loved ones suffer, much to the annoyance of less salty fans. Nowadays, while she still has a loyal fanbase, she's just as much of a base-breaker to the general fandom as her partner.
