** Commissioner Gyuuki is formerly a human, who deliberately sold his soul to Eko to obtain mikuras powers. Turning into a monstrous form known as the "Ushio-Oni", Gyuuki devours Yoshiko's family when she was a child, leaving Yoshiko traumatized until she is sent to an sanitarium. Earning the trust of his superior Chief Sagisaka, when Shinjuku gets destroyed Gyuuki pretends to be in control of the crisis and have hundreds of citizens corralled in an underground shelter, before revealing his true monstrous form and then turning the shelter into his personal buffet as he devours innocents by the dozens, as well as chomping on Chief Sagisaka, chewing him into a pulp and spitting him out for trying to show resistance. Gyuuki further proves his sadism which sticks out from other mikuras, as he deliberately goes after a recently-orphaned little girl.

** Eko Hoshunin, an immortal Karas who became disillusioned towards his perceptions towards humanity, decided the best course of action is to have entire human populations wiped out to reshape the world in his own image. Introduced brutally killing the previous Karas by slicing his arms off before hacking him to death, Eko then recruits his own legion of mikuras followers, sending them on a killing spree throughout Shinjuku. Sacrificing his loyal henchwoman Tsuchigumo to attain ultimate power, Eko uses his empowered tentacles to destroy most of Shinjuku, draining the lives of millions and leaving desiccated carcasses of civilians all over the streets. Eko's actions would disprove his claims to be fighting to preserve youkai and preventing Otoha from falling to the dark side as he did, painting him as a NotSoWellIntentionedExtremist as his destruction of Shinjuku leaves multiple harmless youkai exposed to danger as well, besides attempting to have Otoha killed and later gaining a OneWingedAngel monstrous form with which he tried to devour Otoha.

** The mere premise behind the Mikura. Cyborg youkai who disguise themselves as humans, who feed on human blood to survive, some of who will flat out eat humans. And Eko intends to forcibly convert youkai into Mikura.
* ParanoiaFuel: The Mikura can masquerade as humans, meaning they can be anywhere at any given moment.

Not YMMV.

Crowning Moment of Awesome

* CrowningMomentOfAwesome: Too many to list here. Notable, however, is that the opening fight/credit roll sequence is one.
** The TransformationSequence, which is easily the most elaborate for any hero in ages, requiring an additional person to count it off, a TransformationTrinket with an eye, and catching a sword.

Zero Context Example zapped. Explain why and how it\'s Nightmare Fuel.

* CompleteMonster: Even by the loose standards of the Mikura, Ushi-Oni is a real piece of work.

* HighOctaneNightmareFuel: The Mikura, mostly. Specially Kamaitachi.
** ESPECIALLY Kamaitachi.

** Cruelty is the only option for Mikura as they need fresh blood so it ensures loyalty
** Why is Kamaitachi so crazy? Kamaittachi according to folklore work in groups of 3. What are the chances Kamaitachi is the sole survivor? Especially since in some versions the Kamaitachi are brothers. Or maybe hes a some kind of amalgamation of the three, he does have an awful lot of blades after all...
