When he finally recaptures Shera, he has her chained up and attempts to rape her while also putting her under mind control magic to make her desire to come back with him.

When he captures Diablo's friend Rem, Saddler tries to torture her to death as well, his supposed righteousness nothing more than a mask for the twisted monster he truly is.

** [[BitchInSheepsClothing Paladin Captain Battuta]] is a ruthless knight [[{{Plaguemaster}} behind the Death Knell curse]]. First appearing as an ally for Diablo's party in finding a cure for the illness plaguing Zircon Tower, Battuta is revealed to be the one responsible for it. Working with a demon, he learned about a curse made from prime evil, the collective embodiment of sin, and trance numerous people into committing evil to create the substance and then spread it in the town's [[WaterSourceTampering water supply]] to infect everyone. He then [[PoisonAndCureGambit forced the people into paying high taxes for the cure]] and commit themselves to the Church, allowing the paladins to abuse them and leaving those who couldn't afford it to die. Learning that Lumachina could potentially cure the curse, Battuta schemed to corrupt her, kidnapping her and Rem and having his servant sexually assault them while luring Diablo to a trap. When Diablo and Sherri manage to defeat him and stop his plans, Battuta in a last act attempted to [[TakingYouWithMe take them with him]] by burying them in a cave-in.
