* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: Watching videos of the gameplay, you wouldn't think it was that bad. If the gameplay was used in a completely different game with its premise [[JustifiedTrope justifying]] the gameplay's many oddities, and if it had better controls, then it could be much better than ''HotelMario''.

* TheyJustDidntCare: To the point that they recycled their own animations. Compare the bros approaching the Kingdom gates to them approaching the tree hotel. * MemeticMutation: The cutscenes of this game have been used almost religiously in a style of absurd video editing known as {{Youtube Poop}}, since pretty much every scene is chock full of meme fodder thanks to the bizarre animation, hokey script, silly voices, and downright weird electronic/funk music. The unofficial slogan for Youtube Poop is even made of two different audios from the game. "Where there's smoke, they pinch back".

* CrowningMusicOfAwesome: The game's music is strange but awesome electronic music. Not to mention "[[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O36f1p8QSaw Big Beat Mario]]", a fan-made StupidStatementDanceMix, and [[http://www.keaton-world.com/content/music/2009/Funtastic_Power_-_hotel_mario_remix.mp3 this remix]] of the main theme.

* {{Mondegreen}}: The aforementioned low-quality cutscene uploads courtesy of Quebec Gamer have given us a sizeable amount of these due to scratchy audio. This might be why the QG uploads are used more often in [[YouTubePoop YTP's]] (in addition to being around longer); even though people have uploaded them in higher quality ever since, the clearer quotes don't seem to provide as much lulz as their scratchier, more ambiguous QG counterparts. Some of the more well known mondegreens from this game include...
