The only difference between the two is that Gauron retains a rational and calculating (however depraved) mindset while committing such acts. While heinous, Gates' crimes seem to arise from little (if any) forethought as opposed to being part of a conscious desire to cause as much pain and suffering as he can wherever he goes unlike Gauron. Somehow, the latter seems considerably more sinister.

* BigLippedAlligatorMoment: At the end of an episode of ''Fumoffu'', a [[BewareTheNiceOnes normally kind janitor]] is fed his prize koi fish (on accident), [[BerserkButton causing him to get possessed by a demon]], [[ChainsawGood grab a chainsaw he keeps in his closet]], and attack Sosuke and his friend. Or something. It's never mentioned again, and the janitor is back to normal in the morning.
** The janitor does make a very brief appearance in the last episode of Fumoffu, having apparently reverted to his chainsaw-wielding demon self during the anarchy of the [[spoiler:released bio-weapon.]]
