** If you're starting out, the first proper team you'll probably build is a [=F2P=] Ginyu Force Team (as well as the LR Ginyu (Goku) car), owed to their cards being entirely free with each level where their cards are obtained being constantly available as event missions every day of the week (and as of the March 2024 update in the Japanese version, permanently available in a single event without limits for the levels) having excellent stats, passives and Super Attack effects for being [=F2P=] cards, near-perfect links and even having their own exclusive potential orbs each which means you don't have to worry about unlocking other units' hidden potentials, and can even unlock their lead just by completing the full potential of the team and Dokkan Awakening them. All of this along with filling a multitude of categories as a whole which is crucial for certain missions and challenges make them basically mandatory for serious players.

** [Dawn of an Ideal World] Fusion Zamasu retroactively became this, but due to a very bad instance of a ScrappyMechanic rearing its ugly head rather than the more traditional CondemnedByHistory route. He's an extremely powerful heavy hitter that can also change Ki Orbs to better suit his attack needs while also taking insane amount of punishment while healing back any health lost. There's just one problem: He shares the same character name as the Half-Corrupted unit [Infinite Sanctuary] Fusion Zamasu, meaning despite how perfect they're made for each other, they'll never be able to link up due to the developers refusing to acknowledge Half-Corrupted Fusion Zamasu as its own individual form despite Legends and Xenoverse 2 having no qualms with recognizing that they're two separate characters. This started a movement online with many demanding that [Infinite Sanctuary] (and by extension, [Wrath of the Absolute God] and the final form of [True Power of a God]) have his character name be changed to Half-Corrupted Fusion Zamasu, which would not only fix the linking issue but make him more canonically accurate to the source material.

** [Mastery of the Power of Rage] Goku Black (Super Saiyan Rosé) shares the same name as his INT LR counterpart who got an Extreme Z-Awakening 6 months ago which already deprives the latter of a linking partner that isn't [[LowTierLetdown [Epitome of Sublime Beauty] Goku Black]] but even worse is that like [Explosion of Fighting Spirit] Super Saiyan Broly released before him, he is a Super Bosses leader that can transform and unleashes his Domain with his Active Skill but as detailed in the ScrappyMechanic below, you can only have one Domain in play at any time and to activate another one, you must wait until the previous one expires. Given just how much better it is to run Broly (or even Fusion Zamasu before him), he ended up being OvershadowedByAwesome even in the team he's made to run and players would rather run the LR over him in a dedicated Super Bosses team.

Added DiffLines:

** Only 1 Domain can be in play at any time and to trigger another one, you must wait until the previous one expires which can lasts for up to 4-5 turns. The scrappy part of this comes from the fact that characters who unleashes their Domain also has other buffs in them such as their Transformation. This means that if they want to transform with said character, then you must wait for a while before they can do so and given the prevalence of turn-based buffs, said character will probably be left defenseless and will get you killed.

* ImprovedSecondAttempt: Whenever a Dokkan Event or a character from a specific saga moment gets "renewed", many players usually praise them for being much more true to the original source, sometimes even better as in the case of any units based on Return of Cooler, as well as being absolute monsters in gameplay. This goes double if the last version of that unit was more than five years old, really showcasing just how far Dokkan has come since its humble beginnings.
** [New Power Beyond Ultimate] Gohan (Beast) in the 9th Anniversary is seen by people online as an apology for the lackluster [Awakened Super Hero] Ultimate Gohan unit, as not only does he stay in his Beast form for the entire battle, but also contains references to Gohan's past badass moments (such as his beatdown of the Space Pirates in Bojack Unbound), as well as a direct reference to Xenoverse 2 with his Unit Ultra Super Attack where he performs the Special Beam Cannon alongside Orange Piccolo.

* CreatorsPet: Ever since Omatsu entered the producer role, people have noted that there's a sudden increase in Base Form Goku representation despite being considered the most average form of Goku in recent fan history, not just from being the new beginner [=LR=] in Update Z or having his own [=DFE=] based on the 23rd World Tournament, but also having his own Carnival [=LR=] based on the first Kai opening as well as being injected into non-Goku cards as part of that characters' animations such as [=LR=] Kid Gohan, [=LR=] Super Saiyan Future Gohan, and [=LR=] Super Saiyan Future Trunks, all of them being Carnival units themselves. This also comes at a detriment to other interesting or Extreme class units, such as him taking the spot away from [=LR=] Omega Shenron (who ended up releasing months after the 8th anniversary and is even the same typing as Kai Goku).

** Pajama Name ChangeThe 2024 F2P LR Beerus was revealed to have a different name from the regular Beerus even though literally all that differs from the normal unit is that Beerus is wearing a pajama. Given how Fused Zamasu and its corrupted version didn't receive name differences despite the drastic differences in design, yet Beerus wearing a pajama was enough to differentiate him, many players began joking that if Zamasu received a pajama he would actually be considered a different unit name-wise and thus have began joking that other characters would get "pajama" alts the same way.

** All of Ultimate Red Zone [Dismal Future Edition] suffers from this, with many accusing those stages of not being properly playtested due to the insane levels of luck required to complete even the earlier stages, due to the enemies hitting way too hard way too early and being Damage Sponge Bosses to absurd degrees. The worst of these is the final stage against Fusion Zamasu, due to him being able to attack all of your units as early as his first attack, before any of your team is able to properly build up their stats, leading to a massive case of EarlyGameHell where 99% of all Turn 1's end with a game over. This feeling is further solidified due to later challenge stages being way more balanced so that many other units are capable of completing them, which just further proved how much of an outlier this edition of Red Zone is in terms of difficulty.

** The "Combat Power Reinforcement Summon" is widely considered to be one of the worst banner in the game due to having nothing special to distinguish it from the rest; It's not a Dokkan festival banner, it doesn't have any [=LRs=] whatsoever even though all the other non-Dokkan fest banners have them, they don't give multi-summon discounts, nor guaranteed SSR per multi-summon. All the banner does is that they guaranteed an SR rarity or higher, except for the fact that the SSR rates aren't doubled at all like a Rising Dragon Carnival do, and besides, most the featured SSRs suckedThe only SSR that is worthwhile is the PHY Super Saiyan Gotenks, Super Saiyan 3 Goku, and maybe Super Saiyan Bardock, everything else has been obseleted out of the meta to be useful. anyways. It would be a great banner if it appeared like say, 2015 or early 2016 but when releasing a banner during early 2018 in the advent of 120 and category leads, you begin to question why Bandai would released a banner as outdated as this. The fact that they can be summoned using the tickets purchased from the Kamehameha pack doesn't do anything to mitigate this given the fact that the pack doesn't really offer any Dragon Stones and the only cards you will get from the ticket will be the three Family Kamehameha characters to begin with.

* ItsPopularNowItSucks: Any damn good card will suffer from this at any point in time. Due to their high stats and game-breaking passives and leader skills, many players has openly stated that if a team doesn't have this particular card, then you're better off not running it. Problem is, that 9 times out of 10, said "optimal" cards are usually Dokkan Fest cards and LRs, cards that are hard enough to obtain as it is, thus many people have complained about the credibility of certain teams. Not only that, but once this new card comes out, the Friends list becomes flooded with multiple accounts with the broken card as their lead, making it much harder than it should to find a particular leader for an event.

** The LR cards that you will occasionally encounter during the World Tournament are easily going to be the greatest obstacle you will encounter owing to their high base stats to the point that they could easily one-shot you just with a normal attack if you do not prepare for them. This especially played even more for the AGL LRs (LR Androids, Majin Vegeta and Gotenks) where they will easily resist your AoE LR Broly's attacks and unless they are one-shotted they will probably OHKO you in return no thanks to Broly's reduced defense.

** Jiren from Battlefield take the LightningBruiser traits from other bosses up a notch with some even declaring him to be harder than the BonusBoss that is Goku's Legendary Battle. To wit, he has an insane amount of HP, comparable to that of Bardock and he hits insanely hard, in particular his Super Attack that greatly lowers your DEF, easily outlasting your entire team.
