* TheWoobie: Misao may be someone you want to just hug and reassure, but the writers have made it borderline ''mandatory'' that Yamato ''has'' to ''have the living daylights punched out of him''. Poor guy gives Ginis' original puppet a run for his money when it comes to despair, and it only gets worse as the series goes on.

* UnintentionallyUnsympathetic: Yamato’s father. Yamato is portrayed as in the wrong for running away from him on the night his mother died. But considering that said father showed up too late to say goodbye or try to save his wife’s life, refused to explain why and never bothered to reconcile with his son for 10 years, Amu and Mario admonishing Yamato for not going home rings hollow.

** So people joked about Kohei Murakami's character Bard causing some misunderstandings[[labelnote:note]]He played Masato Kusaka in Series/KamenRiderFaiz, a very memetic character.[[/labelnote]], whether betraying the gang or doing something that would cause infighting. Hell, his character already somewhat started that as early as #11. But then comes [[spoiler:#46]], and even though it has been established since then that Bard is a good guy, the fact that he caused a severe misunderstanding that affected a character's backstory has fans laughing in glee. The extra irony being that it was also established that Bard [[ContrivedCoincidence didn't do it on purpose, either]].

** For anybody who got annoyed with the last few Red Rangers being HotBlooded, loud-mouths can relax, knowing that Yamato is a bit more mature and serious.
** Episode 40 is one for Leo, showing how his old-school "manly" beliefs still have a place in modern times - despite training up the boy to become stronger, he's forced to take his new padawan to task for using everything he's gained, even on his own merit, for something like revenge.
** Done preemptively with the V-Cinema to address [[spoiler:the sudden merging of Zyuland and Earth, with the possibly [[InferredHolocaust dubious implications that would ensue from such an event]], as it tackles the aftermath of the ending.]] Similarly, the movie also deals with Leo’s sexism towards Sela by revealing that after fighting by her side for a year, [[CharacterDevelopment he has abandoned his viewpoint]].

** The music that plays during episode 40's TrainingMontage sounds almost ''exactly'' like "[[Music/{{Survivor}} Eye of the Tiger]]". Why this used this for Leo [[TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodCharacter and not Amu]] is mystery for the ages.

* PopularWithFurries: Naturally, the Kemono and UsefulNotes/FurryFandom have taken a great interest with this series. Mostly because Zyuman's are anthropomorphic BeastMen, even when the main Zyumans take human forms there's still quite a bit of fanart of their Zyuman forms. With Sela and Amu pretty much being pretty much the majority of said kemono/furry fanart, due to their adorable Zyuman designs.

** Ever since it was discovered that the SixthRanger's title was [=TheWorld=][[labelnote:note]]Za Warudo[[/labelnote]], ''[[Anime/JojosBizarreAdventure Jojo's Bizarre Adventure]]'' jokes were inevitable.
** Bud's previous role (Masato Kusaka from ''Series/KamenRiderFaiz'') has caused him to be characterized as a person who sows discord in the fandom as well. And as of [[spoiler:#46]] it played off so damn well.
** Yamato has a tendency to be beaten up, be it physically or mentally, but near the end it was not uncommon for him to somehow get beaten up badly enough to either draw blood or need a bandaid, even if his other teammates were just fine, almost every other episode. This was even taken UpToEleven in the summer movie, where his friends just had a bit of dirt on them after being ''kidnapped and hit with lightning'', while he was bloodied up extremely badly. And if it wasn't that, he was experiencing some sort of serious mental trauma, like watching his team die in front of him. This has lead to some jokes about how the make-up department or someone on the writing team must've had a fetish for seeing the actor in pain or bloodied up.

* LoveToHate: Ginis is considered one of the most evil villains in Super Sentai due to being motivated only by sadism and isn't at all caring towards his minions. However, he is liked BECAUSE of his sadism-driven motivation. He also has a cool design, is calm and collected in his demeanor (so long as you don't know his secret origin) and keeps his BadBoss qualities to a minimum, only showing it when they turn on him (though he still retains his composure regardless) or when they dare to pity him and his origin, making him a somewhat cool villain in spite of this.
