*** Even Masterminds themselves aren't safe from this, as seen with [[spoiler:Yuuto and Wakana]], although in this case the players already knew about the other Mastermind and made their relationship a factor in why their plans escalated so much, and it only happened prior to the start of the game.
** "I'll taste the X", "I'll lick the X", and other variants [[labelnote:Explanation]] During the seventh investigation of ''White'', powdery substances cover the surfaces of the bathroom where [[spoiler:Kazuya]] is found in. Despite evidence that cyanide is involved in [[spoiler:his]] death, Chris licks the substance right off the bathroom floor; thankfully, it turns out to be salt. However, Chris then offers to taste-test many other objects that are clearly laced with cyanide, forcing Monobear of all people to discourage him from getting himself killed. Not only does this help propel Chris to MemeticBadass levels, but characters in later cases and games call back to this by offering to taste-test suspect materials.[[/labelnote]]
** "[[spoiler:Naoto Ueyama]] is dead." (Occasionally phrased as "[[PrecisionFStrike fucking dead]]") [[labelnote:Explanation]] Said in reference to a survivor from ''White''. [[spoiler:On Naoto's blog, one proposed idea for his future was that he eventually went on a voyage to the Arctic. What little contact he has with others slows to a halt, and Naoto is never heard from again.]] Despite the hope some other players express, his own player is particularly insistent that he died out there.[[/labelnote]]
** H U M A N A R M [[labelnote:Explanation]] After [[spoiler:Nicanor]] dies in ''Epsilon'', in the deadblog [[spoiler:Akira]] steals the dismembered arm and [[spoiler:''cooks a meal with it'']].
