* ItsTheSameNowItSucks: A frequent criticism of the show is that little explains what makes the Red Cell different from the original BAU team. On paper they respond to crisis and emergency situation, but that's already what the BAU does. What little the show tries to do to differentiate them feels, for lack of a better word, like it's trying too hard. Like having them operate out of a gym rather than an office. The show never really establishes what makes this team different from the one of the mothership show.

** The reclusive taxidermist in "The Girl in the Blue Mask." After going after the team's SUV with a shotgun - [[CrazyAwesome "I thought you wuz mah friend! Drives the same truck. Tried ta cheat me outta some gallbladders!"]] The reason why they suspect him of being the face snatcher? He was disfigured after he tried to ''kill a bear with a knife.''

* ContestedSequel: Although a spinoff rather than an actual sequel, the principle applies. Fans were ''not'' happy with this show even before it premiered, mostly because it led to A.J. Cook and Paget Brewster being forced off the parent show.[[note]]when this was cancelled, both were resigned for season seven of the original[[/note]] There were also complaints that the show was notably weaker than the original, while trying to be even ''more'' {{Grimdark}} than ''Series/CriminalMinds'', which is already one of the darkest shows on television.

Not YMMV anymore. Moving.

* WoobieDestroyerOfWorlds: Quite a few, but the father in what should be the first episode "Here Is The Fire" (I think) takes the cake when, [[spoiler:after his wife's death he ''hides pipe bombs in his sons' back packs and sends them off to school, a field trip, and the hospital where his wife died''. Only the middle son's goes off, but he's the one who went to school...]]
** He becomes less sympathetic when you remember he never intended to die himself, and probably would've started his life anew after disposing of the remnants of his old one, plus tons of other random people.

Nightmare Fuel cleanup; see thread for reference; also, episode titles are in quotation marks

* HoYay - Lampshaded by Beth, on seeing Mick and Prophet engaged in some very high-contact wrestling: "Hey, how come I'm always the last one to know when people are hooking up?"
** In the episode where [[spoiler: Prophet becomes a full agent]], they also hug. A ''lot.''
* HighOctaneNightmareFuel: What the killer in ''Jane'' does his victims, keeping them alive for hours as he removes each one of their limbs with a bandsaw.
* OneSceneWonder: The janitor who appears at the end of ''Two of a Kind''.

* TheScrappy: Viewers of the show saw Beth as this but it was more because of viewers never giving the character a chance due to Janeane Garofalo's politics.
