* WhatAnIdiot:
** Nathan sends Jodie to a girl's birthday party, said party is full of [[TeensAreMonsters spoiled and egotistical kids who treats Jodie like dirt regardless of how hard she tries to fit in with them]]. The kids themselves count as they apparently never heard of [[Creator/StephenKing Carrie]] before, as they thought [[BullyingTheDragon bullying a girl with a violently over-protective guardian angel]] was a brilliant idea. Even if they didn't believe Jodie had powers, they knew she had been explicitly invited by the birthday girl's mother, who works at the base Jodie resides so bringing harm to Jodie would have caused a lot of trouble for the mother. No wonder many people chose to take revenge on them.
** And what sparks them to turn against her? Simply because Birthday Girl didn't like Jodie's gift of an Edgar Allen Poe book. A simple off-handed "thank you" could've sufficed, but no. Let's make fun of a sheltered girl whom she ''at least heard'' has powers, and may have even demonstrated them, over ''a birthday present''. Jodie even mentions that the book ''is rare'' so even if she didn't like the gift, she could've just sold the thing to a collector and probably gotten some good money for it.
** Jay, an experienced ranch hand, lets Jodie, who has 0 experience with horses, get into an enclosed pen with an unruly horse. She manages to deal with the help of Aiden, but still...
** Ryan gets several in succession after Jodie realises he lied to her about the operation where [[spoiler:she killed a democratically elected leader of another country.]] Expressing absolutely NoSympathy for her morals being opposed to the purpose of the operation while she has a spirit who can [[spoiler:tamper with a helicopter's operating system]] was always going to end in disaster.
** Ryan asking Aiden to lead him and Cole to Jodie '''out loud''' right in front of a guard [[spoiler: while Jodie is being held captive by the government for being too useful to let go]]. The fact that Aiden goes through the trouble to trick the guard into letting Ryan and Cole through in order to go the floor where [[spoiler: Jodie is held prisoner]] makes this moronic moment all the more infuriating.
** Possibly due to poor design, during the "Norah" stage Cole will likely just wander in front of the security cameras at the mental institution before Jodie can finish disabling them. No wonder the two of you get caught immediately afterwards.
** The ''entire game'' is essentially a series of What An Idiot moments, since every chapter involves some poor fool [[BullyingADragon giving a girl with dangerous psychic powers]] a reason to want them dead. The only variation is whether or not the poor fool is aware of Jodie's powers, and only a few haven't at least heard about them.

Aside from that, the games have little in common, outside of Ellie (One of the main characters in ''The Last Of Us'') looking like Creator/ElliotPage in early development. The rivalry began in earnest when Elliot himself brought the issue up, which was a genuine case of shit-stirring on the interviewer's behalf because Page was quizzed as to their thoughts on that one and apparently didn't have it explained to him that the character model had long been changed for Ellie. There are still some people who think Ellie looks like Page even now, but the resemblance isn't as blatant as it once was.
