Still, they didn't start becoming friends until both turned up at the same wrestling school and decided they might as well bond since they knew each other already; even then the two worked as rivals on the independent circuit while their friendship largely budded behind the scenes. It was when they both came to WWE that they fully developed the inseparable on- and off-screen friendship they are known for today, to the point of working together with no issues even in a four-way NXT Women's Championship match, winning the WWE Women's Tag Championship in that title's first ever [=WrestleMania=] match, only splitting up when they lost a match where the losing team would be forced to disband, and even their ensuing "betrayal" and "feud" being a cringe moment and a friendly match. Sure enough, upon getting released, they immediately reestablished their ties as a duo in the public eye.

Madison Eagles became SHIMMER Champion and was voted number 1 on the PWI Female 50 in 2011 - the first time an indie wrestler had claimed the title. But Jessie [=McKay=] was eventually signed to WWE so she has the chance to overcome this.
** She appears to be benefiting from this a second time since the breakup of the Iiconics, as despite the split apparently happening to allow Peyton Royce to be pushed as a singles wrestler, Billie Kay has received a prominent comedic role on Raw with the Riott Squad that has been very well received for playing to her strengths on the mic, while Payton’s singles push failed to materialise and she was put in a team with Lacey Evans.
