* ScaryShinyGlasses: Willy Watt develops these in his debut episode. The closing, silhouetted scene of him in juvenile hall just makes them scarier, to such a degree that it seems to be affecting the other inmates. (Well, okay, maybe it was really because [[spoiler:he made a TV explode]], but the glasses played a role in it.) The next time he shows up, he's ditched them because they don't really work with his new tough guy persona.

* DrivenToSuicide: [[spoiler: Mr. Freeze.]] In the end (due to interference from [[WalkingWasteland Blight]]) he only managed to kill himself, [[TakingYouWithMe instead of hundreds]] though Terry tried to save him.

* TheBGrade: Carter's ''near'' perfect GAT score (compared to Max's perfect one) motivates him to wipe the scores from the school's record and attempt to kill Max as Terminal. Though to be fair, he probably would have learned to cope with it if his mother hadn't refused to acknowledge that a near perfect score placed him comfortably in the 99th percentile - or at the very least, didn't admonish him for "doing so poorly."

* PoliceAreUseless: Subverted twice when Terry butts in and screws up police stings, and scarily averted in 'Eyewitness', when Terry finds himself up against the full, CrazyPrepared might of Barbara Gordon's police force. It's made quite obvious that Terry's WouldNotShootAGoodGuy mindset is ''not'' the only reason that it's one of the toughest battles of the series for him.
