** On the third page of the "GAMMA's magic" arc, Crydius claims that nothing surprises him anymore. One GilliganCut later, and he's surprised at the fact that GAMMA is trying to corral an unruly bunch of humans-turned-frogs.

** Rainbow Dash isn't much better with her feelings towards Fluttershy

* HumanityEnsues: [[spoiler:Thanks to a Macaque's Paw that Chara stole from Crydius after his and Tempest's trip to Equestria, two birds that Fluttershy found and was looking after turn human.]]

* MassiveMultiplayerCrossover: There are characters from easily over a dozen franchises besides the Equestria Girls base, from ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse'' to ''VideoGame/{{Overwatch}}'' to ''VideoGame/{{Undertale}} and more. [[spoiler:This is apparently a consequence of the damage to the portal in "Friendship Games" causing other worlds to start leaking into the Equestria Girls reality.]]

* ChuckCunninghamSyndrome: In the Dodgeball and Capture the Flag arcs, BLU Soldier from ''VideoGame/TeamFortress2'' is the head coach with Tracer from ''VideoGame/Overwatch'' as his assistant. In the First Year's Dodgeball Arc, Tracer is now the head coach and there's no sign of Soldier.

* AdaptationalHeroism: By virtue of being [[OrdinaryHighSchoolStudent Ordinary High School Students]], Crydius (the BigBad in ''War Chronicles'') and his gang (consisting of [[WesternAnimation/AdventureTime Marshall Lee]], [[WesternAnimation/WanderOverYonder Lord Dominator]], [[Manga/SoulEater Crona]], [[VideoGame/{{Undertale}} Chara, and Flowey]]) get hit with this.

** Rainbow Dash can tolerate overly-sappy couples on her ''best'' days. If you bug her too much by being overly-sappy with your significant other in her vicinity, she'll yell at you.

* HasTwoMommies: Well, "Has Two Female Creators", but GAMMA has Twilight and Sunset, even referring to them as her "mother units".

* SempaiKohai: Dominator and Crona's relationship.

* BerserkButton: For Sunset: If you value your life, '''DON'T TRY AND HURT HUMAN TWILIGHT.''' Just ask Rainbow Dash. [[spoiler: Or the demonic creature that Sunset managed to skewer with a flagpole.]]

* CerebusRetcon: The fact that the setting is a MassiveMultiplayerCrossover with no real explanation was mostly played for comedy until "Meet the Princesses", when [[spoiler:Celestia reveals that it's a sign that the damage to the portal to Equestria is starting to seriously affect the world, a side-effect of which is the fact that these characters were brought in in the first place.]]

* HarmlessVillain: Eldritch. He ''wants'' to bring chaos and destruction to the world, except he's too damn ''nice'' to actually be able to pull it off.

* HeroicBSOD: Rainbow suffers one after finding out that Sunset and Twilight somehow created a daughter. GAMMA herself has a literal one later when she meets Pinkie Pie.

* IWantGrandkids: Twilight Velvet, so she's ''very'' happy to meet Gamma, regardless of whether she's a Gynoid or not. Unfortunately for Shining, she verbally eviscerates him for not being able to work up the courage to confess to Cadence so she can get grandkids from ''that'' angle.

** GAMMA manages to take after her in this regard; when she tries making meatloaf, she somehow ''makes it sentient''. And, unfortunately for her and Eldritch, [[BlobMonster it gets pissed off relatively easily...]]

* MassiveMultiplayerCrossover: There are characters from easily over a dozen franchises besides the Equestria Girls base, from ''WesternAnimation/StevenUniverse'' to ''VideoGame/{{Overwatch}}'' to ''VideoGame/{{Undertale}} and more. ** [[WesternAnimation/GravityFalls Dipper]], as seen [[https://crydius.deviantart.com/art/Twilight-s-cookies-572004153 here]], is a member of the "Shady and most likely Dangerous Books Club". Crydius also regularily casts spells using Journal 2.
** It's mentioned several times that the school nurse is named "[[VideoGame/{{Overwatch}} Dr. Ziegler]]", and Tracer is apparently the assistant coach.
** Crydius calls [[WesternAnimation/AdventureTime Marceline]] at one point during the Love Advice arc.
** The AuthorAvatar of one of Crydius' real-life friends, [=MustLoveFrogs=], along with one of her {{Original Character}}s, makes an appearance during the Love Advice arc.
** [[WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse Luna Loud]] is among the girls who want advice from Crydius at the end of the Love Advice arc.

* CantHoldHerLiquor: Dear God, ''Sunset.''

* [[ChekhovsGun Chekhov's Plant]]: The third page of the Flag Hunt arc shows Chara sitting next to a seemingly ordinary potted flower. As Rarity discovered later, said flower is ''Flowey''.
* ComedicSociopathy: Chara.

* BalefulPolymorph: GAMMA accidentally turns Twilight and ''many'' other people into frogs during the "GAMMA's magic" arc.

* AccidentalInnuendo: InUniverse, Crydius has no idea why [[spoiler: his girlfriend]] freaked out when he suggested they [[spoiler: “make a little devil of [their] own.”]]

** Used in one strip. The Soldier from ''VideoGame/TeamFortress2'' is the gym coach, and Rainbow Dash gets a bloody nose (and possibly a concussion) after trying to chuck a ball at Human Twilight (thanks to Sunset being a ViolentlyProtectiveGirlfriend).

* LethalChef: Human Twilight's cookies knock out Marshall Lee and Rainbow Dash and cause Crydius to comment "So this is what death tastes like..." Sunset is mysteriously unaffected.
