* MultipleChoiceFuture: Part 1 reveals that Eren has combined the powers of both the Attack and Founding Titans and is able to see the results of all possible futures depending on what plan he takes to save Paradis. In each and every plan path but the path of the Rumbling, Paradis is granted a temporary peace followed by complete annihilation by the rest of the world. It is following this revelation that he abandons any path towards peace with the rest of the world, and resolves to destroy all life outside the island.

* AnachronicOrder: The flashbacks in Part Two are portrayed out of chronological order, likely to preserve the twist about Historia’s pregnancy.
* AnguishedDeclarationOfLove: A subtle one in Part Two from Historia to Eren. After Eren tells her that it doesn't matter if he dies, Historia [[ArmorPiercingSlap slaps]] him and pleads for him to think of the people who love him.

It is based on the Akatsuki no Requiem fan theory — a popular, albeit somewhat controversial, theory created prior to the end of the series — which imagines an ending where [[spoiler:Eren defeats the Alliance and annihilates all humanity outside of Paradis]]. The original theory itself is based on an interpretation of Linked Horizon's [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrQ0zZArUV8 Akatsuki no Requiem]], one of the ending songs for Season 3 of the anime. Hence the name.

* PleaseDontLeaveMe: One of the reasons Historia is initially against Eren’s plan is because she doesn’t want him to disappear from her life and then die like [[CoolBigSis Frieda]] and [[FirstLove Ymir]] did.

Part Three release update

Added DiffLines:

* ActionGirl: Mikasa, Annie, Gabi and Pieck all count, taking part in the final battle starting in Part Three.
** Mikasa teams up with Connie and Annie to take down Bertholdt and, along with Connie, delivers the killing blow to the Okapi Titan.
** Annie fighting — and beating — two Titans at once in her Titan form.

Added DiffLines:

* ArtEvolution: There is a notable improvement in art quality between each part.
* BeautyIsNeverTarnished: Averted. Mikasa and Connie are shown to have facial burns caused by Bertholdt's steam attack.

Added DiffLines:

* BeingEvilSucks: In Part Three, Eren is visibly distressed when Armin refuses to back down.

Added DiffLines:

* FastballSpecial: During Part Three, Mikasa and Connie are essentially trapped in a stalemate with the Titans, before Annie hurls the two towards Bertholdt and the Okapi Titan.
** Also functioning as a nice {{Callback}} to the Female Titan arc, when Eren threw Mikasa towards Annie.

Added DiffLines:

* UncertainDoom: At the end of Part Three, it is unclear whether the falling Alliance member — inferred to be Jean — is dead or knocked unconscious.
