* ArsonMurderAndJaywalking: The Southern Cross Organization is reportedly responsible for hundreds of criminal acts such as terrorism, warfare, and shoplifting.

* TheUnfought: The large Southern Cross member with the cigar is never directly interacted with.

* AGodAmI: Inferno Cop is worshipped as a god in one episode, and it goes to his head. In a more traditionally villainous example, Claudia in the final episode claims her power exceed a god's.

* EverythingsBetterWithDinosaurs: Inferno Cop and Mecha Cop go to the Cretaceous period, where they are assaulted by enormous dinosaurs. Later in the series, during the Rally, one of them drives a dinosaur, and in the finale, they show up for absolutely no reason at all.

* AwesomeMcCoolname: Again, Inferno Cop.

A sequel was announced in 2017, with [[Anime/SpacePatrolLuluco Over Justice]] taking on a major role. However, nothing had come out of it since it's announcement and is likely stuck in DevelopmentHell. Compare ''Webcomic/AxeCop'' and ''Film/KungFury''.

Mix this plot with a hefty dose of AffectionateParody of every anime ever, ''very'' LimitedAnimation:[[note]]This is done to maximize profits so the money can be spent on projects like ''Anime/LittleWitchAcademia'' and ''Anime/KillLaKill'', which cost '''a lot more''' than this[[/note]] and crude jokes and you got Inferno Cop. Basically, Webcomic/AxeCop as an anime.

* AndNowForSomethingCompletelyDifferent: In a parody of anime plots that completely go OffTheRails, Inferno Cop quickly goes from hard-boiled supernatural shonen, to kamen fighting, to SliceOfLife, to extremely specialized episodes focusing solely on a food item, to racing, to a bizarre out-of-nowhere GainaxEnding that shouldn't involve hardboiled supernatural police. And all of it is funny as shit.

* InfantImmortality: Nope. Well, it's okay to kill babies, when they're actually mutant sea monsters working for the local AncientConspiracy. Also, a baby head is the first to die in the Episode 8 race.

* ShoutOut: [[TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles April O'Neil]] apparently moved to Jack Knife Edge Town and changed her name to Ariel Suzuki.

** One of the dinosaur heads is actually [[{{Franchise/Godzilla}} Gigan's]].
** Mecha Cop strongly resembles [[{{VideoGame/MegaMan}} Doc Robot]]. He's also got a fair bit of [[Franchise/MarvelComics War Machine and The Winter Soldier]] in him.
