Which would explain his ability to speak and anthropomorphic behavior, something the majority of animals in the show do not share. A thoughtless/misguided tourist found him in Australia as a baby and took him home with them. (He could have been already separated from his family by the time they found him, or, in a less sympathetic interpretation, they could have abducted him.) Once the tourist brought him home, he became a novelty in their town and made appearances in local commercials and television shows, and the tourist either became or gave Nom Nom to an exploitative manager/StageMom. Being separated from his family and habitat, combined with a linking of his worth to his career in entertainment and the stress of acting as a child under abusive conditions [[FormerChildStar turned Nom Nom into the man he is today.]] (This would also make him an interesting parallel to Grizzly- both adopted by humans for use in media, but while Grizz realized early on that real families and friends don’t care about ratings, cool catchphrases, or flashy tricks and went off to make his own way, Nom Nom remains entrenched in a toxic showbiz mindset to this day.

*** I got a theory about Grizz: While on the run from hunters, he and his mother find a certain tree as their only escape route. The then young and inexperienced Grizz is urged to climb the tree by his mother. But she sadly is shot before she could get away, leaving Grizz stuck and alone until the fireman later rescues him. It's {{WesternAnimation/Bambi}} UpToEleven.

They also are the reason of the fear of Chrlie to the humans, if you remember in "El Oso" Charlie was not afraid of the humans, somewhere innter "El Oso" and the moment of the series Charlie watched them do somthing so bad and horrible that got afraid of the humans permanently

*** Charlie ends up visiting the bears at the same time Chloe is, accidentally meeting each other and Chloe ends up '''taking a picture of Charlie and posting the photo online out of fascination''', causing a bad impression between the two of them when she chases him around the cave trying to take more pictures until the bears stop her, calm down the situation, and are forced to introduce them to each other. However, Charlie distrusts Chloe, Chloe returns the feeling, and both of them are angry with the bears for keeping their respective friendships with themselves a secret from each other, causing a FriendshipFavoritism situation. Eventually, they [[CommonalityConnection warm up to each other and discover]] they are NotSoDifferent in terms of personality and Chloe ends up having to convince the media that the picture she took of Charlie was fake. Afterwards, she and Charlie end up on good terms.

Notice that RealityEnsues happen not very often, so the more they all get hit with this, the more epiphanies they have about themselves.

* "Wilson Brackets": Brutally deconstructs Grizzly's [[{{Keet}} constant optimism]] and ManChild behavior when it accidentally ruins the eponymous character's life by costing him his job and RealityEnsues in the most depressing way when he can't do anything to help him because of the law; the man reaches his RageBreakingPoint and gives him a scathing ReasonYouSuckSpeech before '''threatening him with a shotgun''' if he ever comes near his family again, therefore becoming KnightOfCerebus.

This theory began with the line from the episode "Occupy Bears" when Ice Bear wishes for a home with a good school district in a flashback. That could just be attributed to Ice Bear's typical weirdness, but when combined with how protective he is of his young friend Chloe, and how he programmed his robot butler to think of him as a father, it becomes clear that Ice Bear wants a future for himself where he has children of his own. D'aww...
