Taking into account Tim Burton's "No Magic" rule, Jack is able to bend the Spiral Hill, rise from water without getting wet, and breathe fire without the pre-drinking of flammable liquids, all under his own power! Not to mention Jack is one of the few characters in ''Franchise/KingdomHearts'' who has dark versions of the normal spells available to Sora and Donald, as opposed to following an elemental theme such as Ariel or Mulan. The UsefulNotes/PlayStation2 video game gave him direct control of fire and ice depending on the suit worn. As this troper sees it, Jack was born a Waterbender, learned Earth- and Fire-bending, and has only Air left to master! (Unless this troper has forgotten an example...)

[[WMG:Jack Skellington Was Originally “Stingy Jack” in His Original Lifetime]]
After trapping the Devil twice and supposedly dying of alcohol poisoning, Stingy Jack was unable to enter Heaven or Hell and was forced to walk the Earth with little more than a hallowed turnip to act as a lamp to light his path. Being unable to pass on, his soul repossessed his body, until the flesh eventually rotted away, leaving only his skeleton. Wanting a place to belong and a purpose, Stingy Jack stumbled upon the Holiday Trees, as seen in the opening of the film. Doomed to walk the line between good and evil, he chose to enter Halloween Town, since he could scare people without malicious intent. There, he quickly rose to the rank of Pumpkin King, a position he has retained ever since (given that he became the origin for the jack-o-lantern concept).

But after hundreds of years of scaring people, Jack has forgotten his past life or even the fact that he was once human and has become out of touch with his deeper emotions. That's why he feels a sense of warmth and longing in Christmas Land, he unknowingly longs for the joy and serenity of Heaven, though it is something he can never obtain. Hence, he subconsciously relapses into his old frightening ways in order to cope. That, or Stingy Jack was finally leaning towards goodness, before becoming a morally neutral person once more.

Jack Skellington certainly sounds like he has the potential to charm someone as evil as the Devil—twice!

[[WMG:Jack Skellington Obtained the Title of “Pumpkin King” by First Getting Rid of the Competition]]
By that I mean other skeletons. Other than those tied to nooses on the anthropomorphic hangman's tree, there are no other skeletons in Halloween Town, human or otherwise (The Grim Reaper does not count). Jack abducted them in secret and locked them away somewhere so that he wouldn't have to compete with other animate skeletons for the title. His unusual height is due to the fact that he even went as far as to steal the bones from these captive skeletons, in an attempt to make himself appear more uncanny, such as adding extra arm and leg bones.

Answering a question about what eggs and bunnies have to do with a religious Easter

Added DiffLines:

**** Paschal Eggs were dyed red by early Mesopotamian Christians as a representation of the empty tomb, and the custom quickly spread from there into Eastern Europe. The first "Easter Bunny" was developed by German Lutherans as a judge of children's behavior (similar to Santa Claus - the German equivalent being Kristkind instead) and took its inspiration from medieval European associations between hares and the Virgin Mary. The association in Christianity between eggs and rebirth, however, predates contact with Pagan Europe.

Jack already made things awkward between himself and Santa the time he tried to hijack Christmas, so he probably didn't want to be involved.

Jack already made things awkward between himself and Santa the time he tried to hijack Christmas, so he probably didn't want to be involved. And considering that the Easter Bunny himself was kidnapped by Lock, Shock and Barrel during all this, it's likely he didn't want Jack involved either.

The episode "Christmas Everyday" involves Timmy wishing for, well, [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin Christmas to be every day]]. The holiday eventually grows stagnant and the other holiday mascots (Easter Bunny, Cupid, April Fool, and Baby New Year) decide to exact revenge on Santa. But for some reason, the spirit of Halloween is replaced by the Easter Bunny's dog, the Hallow-weenie.

Jack already made things awkward between himself and Santa the time he tried to hijack Christmas, so he probably didn't want to be involved.

[[WMG: The Nightmare Before Christmas and {{WesternAnimation/TheSandman1991}} are in the same universe]]
The Sandman was an inhabitant of Halloween Town who was banished for being a violent criminal. Given that The Sandman takes place during presumably Medieval Times, he’s been gone for some time.
