While the Cantonese story books are an Allegory allegory of the political situation in Hong Kong, which the Hong Kong officials felt were offensive and believed could cause sedition against the Chinese Communist Party, which the wolves in the books are based on, the Pleasant Goat series is not as politically offensive as those books were, and it's just a normal cartoon. Oh, we forgot, the series unintentionally referenced the infamous Tianamen Square Tank Man (from the pro-democracy protests of June 1989) in one episode.

Or some kind of recorded performance within the series, anyway. In a Joys of Seasons episode, Wolffy calls himself the "best actor in this whole cartoon", and later in Flying Island: The Sky Adventure, he's convinced he's won a "Best Actor Award"; in Meet the Pegasus, Prince Pegasus mentions he likes to watch Pleasant Goat. How this would work would be interesting, as the series would have to be live-action in-universe for this to work out. No wonder Wolffy keeps failing to eat the goats; doing so would be murder of a fellow actor that they need for future episodes.

[[WMG:The Pleasant Goat series is very different from the series of illustrated Cantonese children's books about sheep and wolves which was banned in Hong Kong due to political insensitivity.]]

* Or these illustrated Cantonese story books could be easily adapted into a fanfic of the Pleasant Goat series by a Chinese living outside of the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong.

* Most likely jossed. The eighth movie's trailer and other promotional materials seem to indicate that it's not a series finale; otherwise, it would probably be advertised as such.

* I don't see how this show would ever end. Its insane popularity rivals that of American comic books and ending it would lose a lot of money.

Mr.Wolffy, Mr.Right! had a crossover with the main show as a one-off gag. Fun Class might get something similar.

* Here's a piece of Pleasant Goat lore that might be of interest in regards to this WMG: the film I Love Wolffy and the season Love You Babe have scenes implying that the Green Green Grassland isn't on Planet Earth, as one would expect.

In the final episode, the wolves will move away and form their own Wolf Village. They will be a self-sustaining village and they will all be vegetarians who won't want to eat goats anymore.
