Tied in to the above theory of Phosphera being connected to Zeus, and the fact that she gets time in brawl as an assist trophy, Phosphera is probably going to play a much larger role. Maybe she's even the next Zeus!

Years ago, [[VideoGame/KidIcarusUprising the Forces of Nature]] were close to wiping out humanity, and Palutena and Medusa (at that point still friends) created the Komaytos to combat the Forces of Nature. Later, they were running out of food sources and Medusa tried to get them to eat humans, but they did not find humans tasty and would only obey Palutena. They attacked Medusa, but Orcos rescued her and turned her to his own evil purposes. In the original, Medusa convinced the Komaytos to attack Pit, because she had helped create them. In ''Of Myths and Monsters'', Orcos tried making copies but was only able to create the weak mockeries seen in that game. In ''Uprising'', the Komaytos sensed the Forces of Nature about to return and tried to stop Pit from [[NiceJobBreakingItHero taking the actions that would unleash them]].

When Medusa's army invaded Skyworld in the first game, it's likely that all the angels that could went out to fight and defend their home. The monsters defeated/killed most of them. The rest were captured, but died in captivity in the Underworld. [[MadeOfIron Pit survived captivity]], and through a bit of magical aid from Palutena and [[TookALevelInBadass leveling up]], was able to return to Skyworld. We haven't seen any signs of other angels in recent media, implying that he might be the only one that made it out of the Medusa disaster alive. This is also why Medusa was able to conquer Angel Land. Palutena was still recovering from her encounter with evil king Orcos, and Pit fell into the underworld after the sun burnt his wings; he had in fact been there long before Medusa came out and her leading the underworld troops against overworld and skyworld [[NiceJobFixingItVillain is what let Pit escape]], as they otherwise would be too busy guarding Pit, preventing him from getting a weapon. ''Uprising'' is the first true sequel and is going to show us that Medusa will not be able to get nearly as far when both Palutena and Pit are at full strength.

** Might be disproved. In the NES game's good ending what appear to be little Putti angels with halos hover over Pit and Palutena. Then again, maybe not, since Pit is never shown to be as grown in sequels as he is in that ending and those little angels haven't been seen since.

** But what about the angel feathers Pit can find? They imply that at least part of the angels don't decompose, so their should be enough genetic material around to truly revive the angel species once someone gets some cloning technology that is both reliable and affordable.

* Maybe not the last of his kind but if the only other angel left is a copy of Pit, it doesn't bode well for the angel gene pool even if males can somehow produce non clone offspring. It is called Angel Land though, at one point the Underworld, Overworld and Skyworld could have ''all'' been populated by angels. Maybe there was a greater cataclysm in the past, that allowed humans, gods and monsters to slowly start taking their places before the Medusa incident finished them off for good. ** But what about the angel feathers Pit can find? [[WMG: Palutena created Eggplant Wizard and Tempura Wizard. She hasn't told Pit this.]]
The monsters Palutena creates when she cooks bear a close resemblance to everyone's most frightening food-based mages.

[[WMG: Hades is [[VideoGame/FableII Reaver]].]]
Given the similarities in voice and personality, perhaps Reaver made enough deals with the powers of darkness that he became a full-blown evil god?

Moving to Uprising page.

[[WMG: Dark Pit was formed from a Dark Mirror]]

In the trailer, he is shown in a purple room consisted up of glass, presumably, mirrors. Perhaps the mirror was an evil magical device set up by Medusa in order to create an evil clone of Pit, like in [[TheLegendOfZeldaFourSwordsAdventures another well-known Nintendo franchise.]] Somewhere along the way, Dark Pit decided to have his own purposes and turned neutral.
* [[spoiler:Confirmed. Dark Pit is born of the Mirror possessed by Pandora for creating new troops. The mirror was shattered before Dark Pit became allied to the Underworld Army, hence his working to his own agenda.]]

[[WMG: By defeating Medusa in the first game, [[NiceJobBreakingItHero Pit released her again]].]]
While there's not much to go by, Pit defeating Medusa in the first time may not have killed her, she was trapped in a Gorgon Statue for most of the game, so in defeating her, Pit didn't stop her, he released her and she ended up being at full power many years later.
* {{Jossed}}: The recent trailer has Palutena saying that Medusa's followers resurrected her, so it's likely she was actually killed. Though freeing her from the statue [[NiceJobBreakingItHero might still have facillitated that]].
** "[[FightingAShadow Killing]]" a Demon/Goddess is usually less effective than [[SealedEvilInACan Sealing]] them.
*** [[spoiler:[[{{Jossed}} Completely jossed]]: Hades actually made a copy of her with the original's memories, and can revive her in this fashion as much as he wants.]]

[[WMG: [[{{Kirby}} Meta Knight]] will be an alternate playable character in Kid Icarus: Uprising]]
It would be CrazyAwesome. And there are several reasons this might happen. Sakurai, the creator of {{Kirby}}, Meta Knight's series, and SuperSmashBros, where Meta Knight is featured prominently in the story mode of ''Brawl''. Meta Knight would be able to take part in the flying missions because his cape turns into a pair of wings. As for weapons, he already has a sword that could shoot out beams, which was one of Pit's new weapons. Meta Knight could probably master any of the other weapons that Pit can use.
* Seems probable...
** Alternatively, there will be a ShoutOut to the Kirby series, most likely in the form of an enemy, or maybe a background decoration. (A statue or carving, perhaps.)
* I can't see this happening.

Alternatively...

[[WMG: [[{{Metroid}} Samus]] will be a secret character]]
Samus already has a range-heavy fighting style, and the dash maneuver in Uprising looks strikingly similar to the sense-move from Other M. Flight could be handled by space jumping repeatedly. The game already has komayto and star pirates, so a Samus appearance would fit right in.

[[WMG: Medusa will turn back into a giant cyclops.]]
We are now used to seeing [[TheLegendOfZelda Ganondorf]] as a human for most of the game before facing a variation of his iconic giant-pig-monster self during the final battle. The same thing will happen with Medusa in Uprising and subsequent games. It will only be a matter of time before the [[PortmanteauCoupleName Ganondusa]] shipping community is born and every combination of forms gets tested.
[[spoiler:Confirmed.]]

[[WMG: Lord Gaol [[StuffedInTheFridge stuffed someone important to]] Magnus in the fridge.]]
* [[spoiler:{{Jossed}}. Dark Lord Gaol ''is'' the important someone stuffed in the fridge.]]

[[WMG: Magnus is based off of Hercules, or Hercules or someone based off of him will appear in Uprising or a subsequent game]]
He's one of the most famous figures of ClassicalMythology, so it would not be surprising for him to make a appearance in some way, maybe with a different name.
* Heracles is more known for a club than a sword. Then again, Medusa wasn't a goddess...
** This is what I thought too. [[StrongestManInTheWorld Hercules]] is pretty much synonymous with [[SuperStrength strength]], and personality wise both Hercules and Magnus are [[RatedMForManly manly]] [[TestosteronePoisoning men]].

[[WMG: Magnus will eventually side with Medusa]]
The game mentions that he's in it for the money, and Medusa certainly has resources to spare. The question is, will Pit have to fight him, or will Palutena make a counter offer?
* [[spoiler:Jossed. He does team up with Gaol, though.]]

[[WMG: There are more enemy forces other than the Underworld Army.]]
There is already the Star Pirates and Dark Pit, so there could be more forces that are unaffiliated with Underworld Army.
* [[spoiler:Confirmed; the Forces of Nature, led by Viridi, and the Aurum, led by Pyrrhon.]]

[[WMG: There is a BiggerBad greater than Medusa.]]
Whomever it is, might have used her and her forces as a distraction in order to hide their own objectives.
* [[spoiler:Confirmed. It's Hades.]]

[[WMG: Dark Pit is the Original Pit.]]
Okay, in the ending of Myth and Monsters, Original!Pit flew too close to the sun and fell. In Uprising, New!Pit (in Uprising and Brawl) seems perfectly fine, wings and personality intact. Original Pit had been burned by the sun, causing him to plunge to the ground and die. Somehow, on the ground, a copy before he was burned was made of him, including all his memories of his battle with Medusa, of the first Kid Icarus, etc. Palutena comes looking for him and instead finds New!Pit. Both are mistaken that our Pit is the true and only Pit, and he's taken back to Skyworld. Meanwhile, Original Pit spends several days in pain, dying, which severely twists his personality. Eventually, he dies and is forgotten. However, in Uprising, there is a mirror called the Mirror of Truth. When New!Pit went in front of it, it reflected the true person that he was a copy of, not only, in a sense, reviving Original!Pit/Dark Pit, who, after his burning wings ordeal, has a much darker personality. Dark Pit thinks that New!Pit has stolen his identity and definitely isn't happy about it -- so he seeks his revenge. Or something.
* [[spoiler:{{Jossed}}.]]

It was a prequel. It wouldn't make sense for Pit to need training for the items he used to save Angel Land already so it had to be a prequel. The reason the Armor wasn't counted as one of the three treasures in the first game is because it was never lost, Pit decided not to don it until he got the Wings Of Pegasus because it would be too heavy without them. The Mirror Shield is a part of the set he didn't use last time so there were still three to get.

Look at the Komaytos. In the first game they look just like Metroids but don't act like them, in ''Of Myth And Monsters'' they look less like Metroids, only having one tooth and one internal nuclei. Now in Uprising they are Metroids in everything but name, this is because over the three games they were adjusting to a new planet, as they are the least developed in the game boy game it has to be the first chronologically.

This is also why Medusa was able to conquer Angel Land, Palutena was still recovering from her encounter with evil king Orcos and Pit fell into the underworld after the sun burnt his wings, he had in fact been there long before Medusa came out. ''Uprising'' is the first true sequel and is going to show us that Medusa will not be able to get nearly as far when both Palutena and Pit are at full strength.
