* ArmorIsUseless: The Red Hounds are fully encased in typical knight's armour, and yet they still die from a couple sword slashes. Arra and her companions are essentially unarmored, and yet they are obviously more durable.
* BarbieDollAnatomy: While the cutscenes are a little more revealing, the actual combat sprite of fully naked [[spoiler: Evelyn]] falls into this.

* CastFromHitPoints: [[spoiler: After Arra rejects being crowned, and The Amber Throne collapses, Evelyn fights her to the death for one last time. Now without The Star fueling her light powers,]] she fuels the sword of light with her own life force. Every slash with it damages herself for several hundred hitpoints.
* CensorShadow: The third phase of the FinalBoss, [[spoiler: Ovum]], combines this with HandOrObjectUnderwear.
* CombatTentacles: [[spoiler: Raninom's]] true form has roots strike out of the ground at the targeted character. Successful attacks may also decrease agility.

* CoolAirship: Not only do you get to travel around in one, but they are an important part of the setting, being one of the few places where human civilization still thrives.

* CriticalExistenceFailure: Downplayed; all of the party members will have a "wounded" sprite when they are near death, which shows them leaning over and barely able to stand in place without falling. However, this doesn't affect their combat capabilities.
** Two of the bosses, [[spoiler: Hasima and divine Evelyn]] also end their battles with wounded stages, whereas they are on the ground, and can either only attack in a far weaker manner, or are unable to attack at all.

* FaceDeathWithDignity: After [[spoiler: Hasima]] is defeated aboard the airship, she is laying down wounded and practically immobilized. Arra's group still attack to finish her off after she mocks Sirra [[spoiler: losing her queen, and becoming LastOfHerKind]]. She can't do anything besides Rotting, which damages her by 100 HP a turn. Even so, she only says this at the start of every turn:

* FinalExamBoss: The FinalBoss is a final exam about all the previous bosses, as each of its stages uses one of the previous bosses' gimmicks. [[spoiler: The Root can completely cover itself in order to heal, unless you cut through the protection with Skybreaker, just like what Raninom did. Stem has Hasima's power of growing out spines for several turns, which makes it counter-attack any of your own attacks, and means that the best you can do is defend and buff each other to weather strong attacks for the next few turns. Ovum's gaze attack, which charges gradually, and whose progress is seen by the glow of her eyes, is equivalent to the Emperor of Sehr's shield smash attack. Lastly, Evelyn uses the same stances as she did during her first battle, even if she now has a sword of pure light.]]
* GodivaHair: Played straight when the final pre-battle conversation with [[spoiler: Evelyn]] begins at first. Then, she turns around, her hair flying to the back and briefly revealing everything.
** Then, the in-combat attack slides play this straight still.

* HeroicMime: Arra loses her voice at the start of the story, and so doesn't speak during the game; only her companions do. [[spoiler: She's offered the crown after defeating Evelyn atop the Throne, which briefly restores her voice. It is taken away again after she rejects it and destroys the crown.]]
* ImpaledWithExtremePrejudice: This is seen in the second phase of the FinalBoss: [[spoiler: the so-called stem has multiple spikes protruding from it. The top six spikes each have a copy of Evelyn impaled on it through her chest.]]

** In an IronicEcho, the victory still for the last battle of the game shows Arra stabbing [[spoiler: Evelyn]] from behind, even though she won the battle fairly.
* KilledToUpholdTheMasquerade: [[spoiler: Raninom]] kills two of his underlings immediately after transforming into his true form, as they react with horror upon seeing it, and may well have turned on him.
** Overlaps with StupidEvil, as he probably could have just let them fight Arra and her companions for him, and transform only after their deaths.

* LaserBlade: [[spoiler: Evelyn]] wields a sword of pure white light in her second battle. [[spoiler: She loses that power after getting severely wounded. For the last couple of turns she's reduced to kneeling on the floor while blasting unfocused light.]]

* LightIsNotGood: The main antagonist, [[spoiler: Evelyn]], calls herself an angel and wields a sword of pure white light during her battle.
* LoadBearingBoss: [[spoiler: Defeating Root and Stem of The Amber Throne's plant]] predictably causes it to collapse, though this is only felt after you defeat the upper-tier bosses as well.

* OneWingedAngel: [[spoiler: Raninom]] is notable for transforming to his monster form without even bothering to fight in his human one.

* SequentialBoss: The FinalBoss battle consists of four or five separate phases: [[spoiler: Root, Stem, Ovum and the second battle with Evelyn. "The Amber Throne" phase is really wounded Evelyn kneeling on the ground and blasting weakly with light.]]

* TakingYouWithMe: [[spoiler: After Evelyn is defeated in a proper battle with Arra and her companions, she attacks her again on her own, desperate to avenge the loss of her chosen status. Since she lost The Star inside her body, the only way she can fuel her sword of light is with her own life force.]]
** Moreover, [[spoiler: she ultimately succeeds. Even though Arra still stabs her in the back, like she once stabbed their father, the battle delays her for long enough that she's ultimately crushed alongside Evelyn under Red Castle's debris.]]
* TheSpiny: [[spoiler: Hasima]] can grow many of these out for several turns. This means that any attack of the party is automatically followed by a CounterAttack, and enables a special "Imprisonment" attack. Thus, the only wise thing to do during that stage is to guard and heal.

He continues to say things like "I hate this" , "You are hurting yourselves" and "I didn't want this" during the battle.
** After the battle, he also reveals he was only driven on the path of confrontation by the combination of Arra's father's influence on him, and the Sehr's prophecy.

* WhereAreTheyNowEpilogue: The epilogue consists of [[spoiler: Popelle]] walking through the world map, stopping at every major location to say how they've been doing since that time.
