* MythologyGag: The bonus song "Spacecataz" heavily takes its vibe and feel from the opening theme from ''Aqua Teen Hunger Force'''s - Ignignokt and Err's show of origin - first few seasons, complete with a sample of the "My name is-!" lyric.

* SecretLevel: In the bonus songs section, "Egomania" is still selectable but almost entirely transparent, intentionally hidden and very easy to miss.

** During "Confidential", you can see the other two FBI Agents in the background before you face them later in the week.

* GimmickLevel: Barring "Reinforcement", each song in Week 2 has a unique gimmick to it:
** "Confidential" has the health bar decrease with every note the opponent sings, though it only goes to 50%.
** "Aegis" starts the bar at 100%, but hit notes don't heal, giving a limited amount of misses before the player is forced to retry.
** "Crack" features multiple {{Interface Screw}}s that happen throughout the level, such as the HUD being dragged down or static filling the screen.

* TheCameo: [[spoiler:The titular ''VideoGame/AlienHominid'' shows up for the final song of the second week. Fittingly, this is also the week where you face the FBI Agents and Robot from the same game.]]
* ConspiracyTheorist: The opponent for the fourth week, Harold, is a crackpot theorist with various drawings, pictures and documents of aliens, particularly Xigmund, scattered about the room he's fought in. The first and part of the third song he's holding a signal scanner and is even wearing a tinfoil hat.

** One of the whiteboard doodles in Week 4’s background is of an OffModel Xigmund with dilating pupils. Cue the 3.0 update, and one of the new opponents is Xigman, who looks exactly like the sketch.

** In the bonus song "Egomania", [[spoiler:Harris will talk all through the song, disabling the note inputs until the player gets through his text boxes.

* "Egomania" is a jab at mods with copious amounts of dialogue in addition to [[TakeThatAudience those who complained about this mod having no dialogue]]: the opponent ''never shuts the hell up'', to the point it's an actual hindrance to the player.

** The name of the conspiracy theorist appears to be Harold, but you'd only know this through looking at his spritesheet in the assets folder. Likewise, you wouldn’t know the FBI Agent's names unless you looked in the official discord server for the mod.
** Each song has a blurb of text either describing it, your opponent, or making a reference. You’ll only get to see them in Freeplay, though.

* BaitAndSwitch: [[spoiler:Harris]] starts his song singing in a cool, smooth voice...before clearing his throat and singing the rest of the song using his goofy dialogue sound effect.

* MirrorBoss: Similar to [[spoiler:Tabi in "Genocide"]] but heavily downplayed, Agent Cupcake in Week 2 pushes Boyfriend's meter back as long as he has over 50%. Agent Sprinkles (the shield guy) is this to a lesser extent, as his meter cannot be pushed back at all, similar to how Boyfriend’s usually isn’t when the opponent sings.
* MotorMouth: [[spoiler: Harris just does [[PunctuatedForEmphasis not. Stop. Talking.]] Even during his song, he talks!]]
* MustHaveCaffeine: From "Jitter" onwards, the Conspiracy theorist can be seen holding a cup of coffee, and judging by his twitchy movements it's safe to say he's probably this trope. He even takes a swig both before "Jitter" and during "Exclusion Zone".
* NinjaPirateZombieRobot: The third week's opponent, [[spoiler: Xigbones, is a singing skeletal martian]].
* TheMenInBlack: You face not one, but three of these as the opponents for week 2, with even the name of the week being called "Men in Black".
* LittleGreenMen: Xigmund and his counterpart zigzag the trope, as while they are green they are also tall. The Xigman is even taller. Ignignokt and Err are minuscule in comparison to them, but the purple Err is the smaller of the two, being a third of the green Ignignokt’s size.
* NoDialogueEpisode:
** One of the big things setting this mod apart from the others is its lack of Week 6-esque textboxes. While it does have cutscenes, these aren't voiced either (such as, say, the ones in Week 7), and songs go right from one to the next. Despite this, a clear narrative can be formed if you pay attention to the sprites of the characters as they sing.
** [[spoiler:Subverted in the secret song "Egomania", where the dialogue boxes not only make an appearance, but also serve as an ''InterfaceScrew gameplay mechanic!'']]
