*** To at least alleviate some tedious LevelGrinding that this game has, your units will still gain EXP if they are defeated in the stage. Furthermore, the less units you bring on a stage, the more EXP is rewarded individually. And in case you bring a max-levelled unit, a portion of the EXP it is supposed to earn will instead be added to the EXP rewards of all other non-max-levelled units.

** Stuck with a certain Abyss Floor? Just trade in your entry tickets to at least have a source of Gold and Stigma everyday until you can progress on the mode.

Added DiffLines:

** The Abyss Tower can be quite notorious for this, as each subsequent progress in the floors brings in yet AI-enhanced units that have more gimmicks, combining the PuzzleBoss and DamageSpongeBoss tropes into one. Most of the time, clearing the harder Abyss Floors require having very specific or game-breaking characters with end-game gear.
* DumpStat:
** Effect Resistance. Sure, it is beneficial for end-game players who focus on PVP content as it helps them shrug off the opponents debuffs. But for early-to-midgame players, and especially those who focus on PVE content (which a majority of the playerbase do for improving the characters), Effect Resistance can be better traded off with more Health and Defense for survivability anyway.
** Effectiveness. It helps the character have a higher chance of landing debuffs on the enemies. But for a character who doesn't even have any debuffing abilities nor doesn't use debuffing Artifacts? This stat is merely skipped to increase the others.
* EarlyGameHell: A trope that is most likely expected for an RPG gacha game. Your units would do little damage nor survivng long enough without proper gear, no matter how rare these characters can be. Since most of the characters' strength come from gears, one is expected to farm or craft a lot of gear before they can take on the harder content.
* ElementalPowers: Many playable characters wield the elements in relation to their designated type under the ElementalRockPaperScissors: Obviously, there's Fire, Wind (under Earth), Ice, Water (under Ice), Light and Dark.

* BreatherLevel: Certain town areas in Story Mode are treated like a friendly Labyrinth stage, low AP cost, almost zero enemy encounters and just progress the actual story away from all the random fighting.

Added DiffLines:

* CreationMyth: The Goddess Diche created and tended the world using the corpse of her deceased beloved Orbis.

Added DiffLines:

* CriticalStatusBuff: Some Artifacts passively increase specific stats the lower the wearer's health becomes.
* Crossover: While it is normal for a mobile gacha game to do collab events with third-party franchises, Epic Seven is no exception.
** VideoGame/GuiltyGear (April-May 2019) featuring the Xrd REV designs of Sol Badguy (the free character), Baiken, Dizzy (the limited banner characters) and I-No (the event antagonist).
** CooldownManipulation: Some characters have abilities that can reset, extend, or reduce the skill cooldowns of enemies, themselves and/or their allies.
* CutAndPasteEnvironments: Most of the backgrounds you see in one stage can later on be re-used in other stages.
* DamageIncreasingDebuff: Defense Break greatly reduces the targets' defense.
* DamageReduction: On the other hand, the Defense statistic obviously reduces damage taken, and this can depend on the characters' gears and the Defense Increase status buff.
* DeathFromAbove: The available Guardians unleash a devastating attack when summoned from off-screen. Notable of which is Zeaon who arrives in a ThreePointLanding before blasting the opposing team with an explosive laser.
* DifficultySpike:
** The "World"-difficulty Adventure mode (now archived into a separate side story) features enemies going past Level 60 (the maximum Level Cap for the playable units) encouraged players to amp up their gears and equip better sets, as the difference between fighting them compared to the last 10 levels is huge. This difficulty level is also present as the "Hard" in Side Stories.
** Floors 90 and above for the Automaton Tower consists of AI-enhanced units with more passives and resistances.

Added DiffLines:

* ColorMotif: Interestingly enough, the game makes use of this to make the ColorCodedElements match with the color themes of some the characters' outfits in one way or the other. For example, the elves Iseria and Silk have white-green outfits and they are Earth-elemental (Wind), Lorina has an overal dark purple motif as she is Dark-elemental (Purple), Sol Badguy and Cermia have red outfits for being Fire-Elemental (Red) and so on.
* CombinationAttack: Invoked in the "Dual Attack" mechanic wherein another unit of the same team can jump in to attack the enemy after one of their teammates finish their own attack. Initially, it is determined by luck, but some skills can guarantee the other characters to initiate this.
* TheComputerIsACheatingBastard: Any of the named characters that you can collect here may also appear as computer-controlled enemies in specific stages, especially the Abyss and the Automaton Tower. However, they will have additional quirks that their playable versions do not have such as more passives, more buff-debuff utilities, or conditional attacks that chain into other attacks.
* Constellations: Incorporated even as a game mechanic since all characters have astrological signs, with the constellation even appearing on the interface where you Awaken your units.
* ContractualBossImmunity: Almost every enemy boss has a resistance to one or more StatusAilment. This can be checked by long-pressing on the portrait of the boss.
* CounterAttack:
** Certain characters and enemies can passively attack back if the opponent hits them.
** There is a Banshee gear that gives a Counterattack set. Units with this set equipped have a 20% chance of attacking back.
** Likewise, some Artifacts can also provide this effect.

Added DiffLines:

* CriticalHit: Comes in numerous mechanics that are all corelated and modified depending on certain factors.
** The ElementalRockPaperScissors rules give an increased critical chance for the stronger element against its weaker counterpart.
** Critical Hit Chance and Critical Hit Damage values can be modified with gears and Artifacts.
* CriticalHitClass: Any character whom you give 100% Critical Hit Chance will become this. Awakened boosts from certain astrological signs also increase Crticial Hit Chance.

* BraggingRightsReward: For the PVP rewards:
** Additional Profile Frames can be acquired by participating in the current Arena season and/or purchasing them with the mode's currencies (which require a lot of [=PvP=] fighting).
** If you manage to be on the Top 3 players for the previous season, your name and featured unit will be displayed on the Arena Season Hall for the current season, making it more like a typical Hall of Fall for the Top 3 players.
* BreatherLevel: Certain town areas in Story Mode are treated like a friendly Labyrinth stage, low AP cost, almost zero enemy encounters and just progress the actual story away from all the random fighting.
* Cap:
** Your units' maximum levels are denoted by the number of stars that they have, with 1 star equals 10 levels. You can uncap (or as the game calls it "Promote") units to increase their Level Cap, for a maximum of Level 60 at 6★.
** Gear and Artifact enhancements are capped at +15.

* CastHerd: Every character has a relationship listing with a handful of others; when one turns up in-game, it's generally going to be a few of those they know.

to:

* CastHerd: Every character has a relationship listing with a handful of others; others as a group; when one turns up in-game, it's generally going to be a few of those they know.know.
* CharacterSelectForcing:
** Story stages in time-limited Side Stories are like ScriptedBattles, with the "NPC" or guest character team pre-determined until you clear the stage for the first time.
** Invoked in the optional side quests presented for a stage - You need to bring a unit of the required class or element to obtain a star (and 5 skystones) for that stage.
** If your unit dies in any Guild War attack phase, then you are barred from using that character in any subsequent attack phases of your choice for that current Guild War match.

Added DiffLines:

* ColorCodedElements: Red (Fire), Blue (Ice), Green (Earth), Yellow (Light), Purple (Dark).
* ColorCodedItemTiers: The background color of a gear denotes its rarity, with this list going from the most common to the rarest items - Gray, Green, Blue, Pink, Dark Red.

Added DiffLines:

* BizarreSexualDimorphism: Male Suins are more of the furry humanoid creature kind, with a fully-body fur coat and beastly faces. Female Suins on the other hand are more like your typical CatGirl from other fantasy media - human-like girls with a few beastly traits like a tail or animal ears.
* BlackSwordsAreBetter: Higher tiered and higher-levelled gear of the same category will often have darker colors and even adorned with spikes. Take for example the Golem Sets which are ebony on Level 55 but have more sinister-looking ivory counterparts on Level 85.
* BondCreatures: The introduced Guardians are bound to a certain special individual namely: Arkasus for Ras, Kromcruz for Ludwig, Zeaon for Iseria, and Kazran for Yuna
* BonusBoss: Hell Raid bosses such as Devourer Azmakalis require a unique entry item that can be purchased for 1200 Ancient Coins. Naturally, the level is much harder than the typical Normal Labyrinth raids, but offer generally better rewards.
* BoringButPractical: The process of promoting a character to 6★ requires some tedious LevelGrinding enough as it is. At first the player can think of using only Phantasmas throughout the whole process, but there is a much more cost-efficient, yet more time-consuming way. That is to level up and promote the random fodders that you receive as stage drops and use them to promote higher-level fodders. In this way, the player can also save up a lot of Stigmas.

* BalanceBuff: Happens regularly, as the producing company Smilegate, takes an active interest in the game's meta, making sure that underused characters still see the light of the day.

to:

* ArbitraryHeadcountLimit: You can only have 4 units on your team at once (there is an optional slot for a Friend Supporter) in most of the game's contents. In the Guild Wars PVP mode however, you can only have 3.
* AreaOfEffect: Some units and enemies have these in their skillset, mostly by damaging all of the opponent team at once.
* ArmorIsUseless: Zig-zagged. The Defense and Health statistics rely mostly on your gear, equipment and artifacts, not on their default and lore-wise appearances. So, a sexy IdolSinger like Tamarinne can still be a StoneWall if you make her durable with said equipment, while an armored knight like Krau can easily die in battle if you don't have any gear equipped.
* ArmorMeterPoints: Of the Meter variant. Barriers provide an extra temporary HP indicated with a white bar overlaying on the right of your default, green HP bar.
* ArmorPiercingAttack: Some abilities and spells come with the Defense Break StatusAilment that lowers the target's defense.
* ArtShift:
** The VisualNovel-style story-telling and the inventory screens make use of moving images employing the [=Live2D=] technology, whereas the character portraits in battle are merely static images.
** Furthermore, there are also some shifts in the designs when you are in combat, since the characters are portrayed in a somewhat zoomed-out part on one side of the screen. And when you unleash a character's third, or "ultimate" skill, a full-screen animated sequence plays (when using 4★, 5★ or Specialty Changed characters). This causes some temporary inconsistencies due to the different styles used. For example, Assassin Coli has a feather on her head and a tattoo in her left shoulder as seen in her official art, the tatto is not visible in her in-game battle sprite, and the feather disappears in her full-screen animation when using her "Murder" ability.
* AutoRevive: A few characters can revive themselves with a silk of HP, but can be countered with those who can use the Extinction StatusAilment on them.
* BalanceBuff: Happens regularly, as the producing company Smilegate, takes an active interest in the game's quickly and ever-changing meta, making sure that underused characters still see the light of the day.day.
* BeachEpisode: Summer-themed events naturally take place on the beach.

** Nocturnes are another example, they do a ritual that makes stopping aging in a young age and they stay that way.

But there exists characters displaced from another time and place, bringing modern concepts to this world such as Yuna (and her mechanical inventions) and (Tamarinne, an IdolSinger).
* AndYourRewardIsClothes: Season Pass Rewards give some characters additional outfits at the cost of 900 Skystones and requiring certain tasks to be completed.

* AchievementSystem: The "Reputation" menu consists of several incremental tasks that provide the player with Reputation Points and various rewards for completing them. Gather enough Reputation Points and the player can have permanent passive bonuses to certain gameplay aspects.
* AerithAndBob: As expected for a medieval fantasy title, character names range from the ordinary names that can apply in real life (i.e. Mercedes, Yuna, Ken, Celeste, Helga, Jecht, Charles, Violet) and names that are clearly made with a fictional fantasy theme in mind (i.e. Kayron, Tenebria, Corvus, Mistychain, Gloomyrain, Kise, Khawazu, Ravi).

Added DiffLines:

* AlwaysNight: The background scene used when camping inside a Labyrinth is always set under a starry night.
* AmbidextrousSprite: Character sprites are horizontally flipped whenever you change directions in a stage, with egregious changes that flip certain accessories, consequently not matching their official artworks, such as in the cases of an eyepatch (Schuri), tattoo (Assssin Coli) or a FashionableAsymmetry (Luluca). In other more blatant cases, handedness and the positioning of weapons also get flipped.
* AnachronicOrder: Ras has his own Untold Stories archived as an optional Side Story, chronologically taking place as an Interquel between Episode 1 and 2. But since it is optional, you can either just skip it, or start Episode 2 without having finished this side story yet.

** The latter pits your guild against another, with six heroes (two rounds of three heroes each) guarding a tower of a guild, with guild members destroying the opposing guild's towers by beating the guarding heroes twice - the catch is that the player cannot fight an already fought opponent.

BEWARE OF UNMARKED SPOILERS from the first part (Normal (Episode 1 Normal Difficulty).

* TheAgeless: Due to Sprites of this game never changing this happens to every character. (Notable exception is Diene.) Nocturnes are another example, they do a ritual that makes stopping aging in a young age and they stay that way.

** The Sidestory 'Eulogy for a Saint' where Archdemon has sealed away and the world is saved once more. But Bask died after the final fight without able to accept Diene's marriage proposal.

* CharacterDevelopment: To Ras, he starts with the entitled goddess avatar with no certain emotions, he just wants to fulfill his duty destroying archdemon. Due to events of the last world he gains more humanity each chapter thus he is able to come up with a satisfying answer to both Vildred and the Diche.
** Bask, the protagonist of the Eulogy for a Saint. He starts out as an atheist, sour knight who only thinks the fame. With the long travel with the Diene, he becomes a knight with a heart of gold and does the heroic thing that he states he hates it at the start.

* TheChosenOne: Arguably, any Heir qualifies, but especially Ras Elclare, as the chosen one of the goddess Diche, has privileges that others Heirs lack, such as reincarnation and being stronger than regular humans

to:

* TheChurch: Notably Blue Cross Church is the first name comes to mind and its the biggest one. Meanwhile, Apostles are the military kind of the Church and their evil counterparts Ilryos Church.
* TheChosenOne: Arguably, any Heir qualifies, but especially Ras Elclare, as the chosen one of the goddess Diche, has privileges that others Heirs lack, such as reincarnation and being stronger than regular humanshumans. And Luluca, shaman of the Rekos, beloved one of the spirits and the one who will save the spirits.
* CorruptChurch: Order of the Blue Cross church before the events of Episode 1. Archpriest Noard used the Church for his own gains and created artificially enhanced mages only to leave them to die.
* CreatingLife: Taranor in general. King Alfred and Friedrich were created lots of Homunculi and Wraiths.
** Reingar also does this but ethically. Artificial Dolls(Lots and Maya) are reingar works.

Added DiffLines:

* EvilCounterpart: Acolytes to Spiritlords. Both based from 5 elements in the universe.
** Angraf to Ras; Both are the creation of their respective gods and somewhat avatars.
** Kayron is even more suitable counterpart to Ras with their color schemes being reverse of each other, being Fire hero and being the leader of respective teams.

Added DiffLines:

* GodIsFlawed: Rekos and Diche, Diche's escapism from the Celestial War ruined a world so many times. It took seven worlds for her to understand it.

Added DiffLines:

* ReligionOfEvil: Church of Ilryos and the Chaos Sect. Former being the worshipping the Archdemon who is supposed to destroy the world and latter one feeds on Chaos itself.

Added DiffLines:

* SinisterMinister: Archpriest Noard Riks, he is one of the most evil characters in the series without any reasons. He uses Blue Cross church as his special army. Created tons of soldiers artifically for war but never made it officially so they had to dispose of them secretly. Ironically he was killed by his own creation, Kawerik.

Molagora takes 18 hours to grow, not 12

** Mola-Gora, a type of mandrake, are used for enhancing skills. Each week a player is given a chance to buy 2 seeds (meaning you have to plant it to the Soul Forest area in the Sanctuary and wait 12 hours to get the mandrake, or spend Stigma to make it grow instantly) and 1 already grown. If you need more, you can try doing Adventure or doing other activities that reward the seed or the plant itself.

* AnotherSideAnotherStory: A feature of this game is a two-weeks-long side story where you control featured characters of said story (and usually accompanied by a banner where one or two of them have increase in pull rate). Doing said side story will net you currencies to exchange for items.
* AntiFrustrationFeatures: If you didn't complete a stage because of reasons (yielding/quitting, game crashing, game ending, losing, etc.), your spent stamina will be refunded. To prevent exploiting this, the drops and features (e.g. Goddess Shrines) will be the same unless you spend your energy elsewhere.

* ElementalRockPaperScissors: Every hero and monster belongs to one of five elements: Earth, Ice, Fire, Light or Dark. Earth has advantage over Ice, Ice over Fire, and Fire over Earth; meanwhile, Light and Dark both deal more damage to one one another.
* Fanservice: The majority of female characters are actually pretty well covered up. Those who aren't, however, are definitely designed with this in mind.

* LevelGrinding: Between levelling up heroes to a soft cap, increasing the cap via promotion from spending similarly-levelled heroes (and fodder monsters) and levelling up player rank, equipment and artifacts, levelling up skills and enhancing the characters' base stats via awakening, there's a lot of time and effort spent in maxing out even one character- but the game's more than beatable with characters a good ten levels shy of maximum.

to:

* ItemFarming: Goes hand in hand with LevelGrinding below.
** Runes are required to "awaken" your heroes denoted turning their star red. Thus you can awaken a hero six times in total and each awakening improves stats and alters one of their skills. Runes are generally farmed on Spirit Altars, which features a single element each weekday, and all elements on weekends.
** Catalysts are used for awakening (as mentioned above) and for enhancing skills (i.e. reduce their cooldown by 1). Unlike runes, they're rare drops from certain monsters, so you have to check up the location guide or fan guides for optimal farming. Also remember that there are typical catalysts and rare catalysts, which are even hard to drop.

It's mostly for end game content and [=PvP=].

Added DiffLines:

* PlayerVersusPlayer: Comes in two flavors - Arena and Guild Wars. Former pits your four heroes against another player's four heroes. Latter pits your guild against another, with six heroes (two rounds, three heroes each) guarding a tower of a guild, with guild members destroying the opposing guild's towers by beating the guarding heroes twice - the catch is that the player cannot fight an already fought opponent.

As standard for a gacha game, the player randomly receives a selection of heroes from which to build adventuring parties, each of which have their own unique strengths and skills as well as a selection of artifacts that can be equipped to them. Gameplay consists of entering corridor-based maps and fighting sets of enemies, normally culminating in a boss battle.

A long time ago, a war between gods happened. In the middle of it, the god Orbis was struck down, and his wife Diche, in her grief, made a world from his Corpse, which she tended to, instead of fighting on the war.
Tired of her losing time with a corpse, the other gods cast on it a curse that manifested itself as the Archdemon in the world of Orbis, with the destruction of Orbis as it´s objective. To counteract this, Diche created the Heir system, where some beings of Orbis are selected by Guardians and are given some of Diche´s power, with Ras Eclare as Diche´s own direct Heir.
