*AdaptationalBadass: Blinky, who rarely ever fought against the Toads directly in the show, is one of the four playable characters, and an equally capable fighter as Bucky, Jenny and Deadeye.
* AdaptationDistillation: Jenny makes no attempt to hide her magical abilities from her crewmates, using them casually alongside her blaster.
* AdaptationalWimp: In the cartoon, Total Terror Toad is a gigantic, unstoppable [[TheJuggernaut juggernaut]] who explicitly cannot be defeated though physical force. Here, he is portrayed as being far smaller (though he still towers over the Righteous Indignation crew) and much more susceptible to their firepower. Toadborg is similarly much less of a physical threat than his cartoon counterpart.

* CanonForeigner: Ro-Dent the Old Mouse and one of the bosses, Cyborg Spider, doesn't have a cartoon counterpart.

* BossOnlyLevel: Apart from a short jetpack descent, level eight is focused entirely around fighting Komplex.
* TheCameo: The Air Martial's goons Frix and Frax make brief appearances in the first and fifth levels.

He's not even a playable character, despite Despite being one of the TV show's main cast members, and that being listed in the intro, Willy Duwitt does not have much of a role in the game, with his name is mentioned biggest appearance being to disable the Climate Controller in level 3. Bruno gets this even worse, as he never appears outside of cutscenes and his inclusion has no impact on the game's intro.story.
* DoomsdayDevice: The Climate Converter, which sucks out a planet's life force and rewrites it to suit the Toads' needs. The intro appropriately sets it up and the Toad Army's most devastating weapon.
* EvilIsBigger: All of the bosses tower over the Righteous Indignation crew, with the exception of Cyborg Spider and the Air Martial.
* FlunkyBoss: True to his character, the Air Martial's boss is centered on him sending waves of Toad Footsoldiers after the players.

* MyRulesAreNotYourRules: In the second fight with Toadborg, the arena is covered in electrified flooring, which he is able to freely walk across.

* SequentialBoss: FinalBoss Komplex is fought in three phases; the first phase sees Bucky and crew attacking his mechanical body's legs, the second phase focuses on his torso, and the third and final phase is directed at his head.

* ShoutOut: The Toad Star is a blatant one to the [[Franchise/StarWars Death Star]].

* AdaptationalWimp: The Toadborg, while serving as TheDragon in the show, here is the boss of the Green Planet, the easiest of the four worlds you can choose from. His attack patterns are quite predictable and avoidable, and he's nowhere near the KnightOfCerebus who delivered the heroes' first defeat.

''Bucky O'Hare'' is a 1992 arcade RunAndGun-style action game released by Creator/{{Konami}}, based on the TV series ''WesternAnimation/BuckyOHareAndTheToadWars'' - and unlike the TV series that inspires it, the game actually has a conclusion to the titular wars.

When the Toad Empire get their hands on a computer program known as "Komplex" and intends to unleash it's powers - called the the "Interplanetary Life Force" on unsuspecting worlds, it's up to Bucky O'Hare and his crew to save the universe.
The game allows up to four players at once, with playable heroes being characters from the TV show, including Captain Bucky O'Hare of the Righteous Indignation, the "Aldebaran cat" Jenny, Dead-Eye Duck and the ship's android, Blinky.

His attack patterns are quite predictable and avoidable, and he's nowhere near the KnightOfCerebus who delivered the heroes' first defeat.
* ActionizedAdaptation: Bucky and his crew kicks way, way, ''way'' more ass in the game than in the series - their kill-tally in the first stage is already higher than the series' ''entire 13 episodes''.
* AnimalMecha: Two of them shows up as {{Mini Boss}}es encountered in the middle of stages; the mechanical SpaceWhale piloted by Total Terror Toad, and the robotic LandShark in the desert chase.
* AshFace: Getting hit by flamethrowers or fire-spewing traps will momentarily turn Bucky and crew entirely black, but they'll shake the effects off after a few seconds before they resume ass-kicking.
* AsteroidThicket: One of the more platform-orientated stages is set on an asteroid belt, with Bucky and crew leaping from one hovering asteroid to another while shooting enemies in the way. Occasionally the asteroid might give way underfoot, necessitating them to run quickly or lose a life.
* AutoScrollingLevel: Levels where Bucky and crew gains jetpacks have them flying upwards or forward on full-auto. As does the HoverBike stages.
* BackpackCannon: Blinky has one protruding from above his back, which provides backup attacks when activated and release a flurry of energy spheres at enemies.
* CanonForeigner: Ro-Dent the Old Mouse and one of the bosses, Cyborg Spider, doesn't have a cartoon counterpart.
* CobwebJungle: Cyborg Spider is fought in a cobweb-covered set of ruins, which he coated himself prior to the fight. And will repeatedly demonstrate his ProjectileWebbing abilities to create more webs in the area.
* DemotedToExtra: Willy Duwitt from the show appears only in cutscenes. He's not even a playable character, despite being one of the TV show's main cast.
* GiantMook: The MookMobile toad ships, occasional enemies that takes up a large chunk of the screen, requires plenty of shots (or at least a SmartBomb) to destroy, and attacks by trying to ram into the players.
* TheGoomba: The Storm Toads in video-game form are as useless as their cartoon counterparts, being easy enemies that appears in large numbers and dies in just a single shot. Harder enemies like blue toads and toad ships doesn't appear until later stages.
* HoverBike: The stage on Planet Ro-Dent have the heroes riding weaponized hover-bikes on full-auto, controlling the bike's turrets into shooting everything in sight.
* JetPack: Toads on hover-packs are recurring enemies, which they use to drop into an area to ambush Bucky and crew. Bucky and gang uses jetpacks in a handful of levels, for infiltrating enemy bases where they simply shoot everything in their way while being carried by their packs.
* MechaMooks: Besides Storm Toad foot-soldiers, sometimes the toads can send robotic enemies to menace the players.
* NoticeThis: Or "Aim Here!", when the game points out which control panel / circuit board / console etc. you need to destroy to deactivate gates, forcefields, or whatever obstacle preventing your advance.
* PeopleJars: The second-to-last stage have an area containing Storm Toads in glass cylinders. Shattering their containers will release them into attacking immediately.
* RecurringBoss: Toadborg needs to be fought twice, the second time at the end of the second-to-last stage. It's harder in the latter fight since Toadborg is fought in a room containing electrified floors than can shock Bucky and gang, but not himself.
* RocketPunch: Another added feature for players who use Blinky the robot, where his secondary attack have him shooting his fist ahead into enemies before retracting into himself.
* RockMonster: The level set on an asteroid belt have sentient, humanoid piles of asteroids as enemies, capable of taking far more hits than the usual toad mooks and collapsing into LiterallyShatteredLives when killed.
* SandIsWater: The robotic LandShark boss is fought in the desert (while the heroes are on {{Hover Bike}}s) where it pops in and out of the sand like a shark through water. It even sports a SharkFinOfDoom before pouncing out to attack before diving back into the sand.
* SeanConneryIsAboutToShootYou: Bucky's aiming for the players in the arcade flyers, but you probably don't need to worry much unless you're a toad.
* ShockwaveStomp: Total Terror Toad's sole attack during his boss fight have him leaping in and out repeatedly onscreen, in an attempt to stomp Bucky and co. underfoot.
* SmartBomb: Available for all characters, which manifests as a powerful blue energy sphere from where it's activated causing massive damage within a large radius.
* SpaceWhale: A robotic version of an alien whale, larger than most battleships and too big to occupy the entire screen, shows up as one of the bosses. However Bucky and his gang have jetpacks during that battle, and so can simply fly circles around the monster while returning fire. (Protip: [[AttackTheMouth Shoot inside it's mouth when it's using it's vacuum attack]])
* TeleportSpam: Blue-skinned toad aliens, whom are more durable and capable of absorbing more hits than the recurring green variety, can teleport after getting hit, reappearing elsewhere in the area to take potshots at Bucky's gang.
* TVHeadRobot: The final stage have one of these, whose screen is as tall as the entire screen, as an AdvancingWallOfDoom trying to flatten the heroes. It splits into [[AsteroidsMonster half a dozen]] smaller TV-heads after it's blown up.
* WarmUpBoss: Al Negator, the first boss. Relatively slow on his feet, carries a dinky laser blaster with a painfully slow firing rate, and his only special attack is a predictable TailSlap that can be dodged by jumping. He's as easy as you'd expect a level 1 boss to be.
